How would he fare in this terrible middleweight division. If you recall, when he fought Hopkins the first time, he gave him a pretty competitive fight. Echols, could box and give weird angles, I could see him giving a lot of the top MW's today fits. What you think?
lets not go overboard here guys. the Middleweight division today is just sad, but the one back in Hopkins' days was pretty pathetic too.
Echols wasnt all that great, and he went life and death with an older Brewer, getting dropped 3 times in one round before coming back to surprisingly win. lets not overdo it with his chin.
the only guys I think would 'make waves' in todays division are Trinidad, Keith Holmes and Joppy.
Agreed. Echols may have been promising but whatever "promise" he had flew out the window following the second Hopkins fight. Not that he was that great to begin with, he wasn't.

From what I remember, he did. The rematch wasn't so competitive though. B-Hop was outboxing Echols in their first bout, Echols was damn strong for a little guy.
I thought he was more competitive the second time around. You're right that Hopkins outboxed him the first time...he did it EASY. I think much of the hype of the first fight was that Echols knocked him down during a break. You'd be hard pressed to find any other highlights for him.
You do realize that he was KO'd in his pro debut by an 11-13 kid that he outweighed by 2 weight classes.
Dumb Ass
Then he was stopped in the 10th round against B-Hop, in the rematch. That was his 28th bout. From watching B-Hop vs Echols I and II, I know damn well he wouldn't be the same after that.
Prime.Echols.had.a.really.good.chin.
That isn't even debatable.

I'm the dumb ass? Read your post. "Echols had a really good chin" Please! He had an average chin at best and everyone knew he could be chinny at times.
"Strong For A Little Guy" WTF does that mean? They were all MW's! Yet Echols was a little guy? That is plain stupid.
"K.O." Pavlik"? BAsed on what dumb ass? The 0 times Pavlik has been KO'd in a 36 fight career! Sorry, but I am pretty sure that Miranda is a bigger puncher than Echols ever was!
You are obviously the dumb ass!

MW mother fucker! I'm over here talking about how small Echols was for a middle weight and your gonna hold him accountable for his loses at SMW/ past his prime?
I didn't know Roman Karmazin was a SMW dumb ass!
Echols had a really good chin. Mother fucker was strong for a little guy. I know enough to say that he'd K.O Pavlik.

Hardly. You obviously are a big Echols fan and are blinded enough that you can't see a mediocre career when it stares you in the face.

He didn't give Hopkins fits the first time at all...

Echols is a shot fighter now, obviously. I think he'd hold a version of the MW title if he was active and prime now. I always thought he were a little chinny but he could bang really hard, KO puncher.
Echols is around now and getting KTFO buy everyone!
0-7-3 in his last ten and has been stopped 4 times out of those 10!
The guy hasn't won a fight since 2004 and you want to say he would KO Pavlik?!?!?
That is just stupid Pavlik hate and nothing else.
I'm talking 160 and prime dumb ass.

A prime Echols, I think those Hopkins bouts took a lot out of him.

Idk if he'd KO Pavlik, but I think his awkwardness and crazy angles would give him fits. And, with Pavlik's telegraphed offense he wouldn't be able to find Echols.
