Could beat him, because I think anyone that is honest would have a hard time doing so.
I say outside of Lennox Lewis, Ali , & Joe Louis only ones I can think of or Foreman, Lewis and Tyson.
Riddick Bowe-While he was athletic and a great boxer, I just think he lack the discipline and work ethnic to prepare himself if a mega fight between them was ever set up. He has all the tools physically but mentally there is alot to be desired from Bowe.
Tyson- My favorite fighter, but in all honesty Vitali style is kryptonite to what Mike like to do. Vitali is one of the best at keeping distance and keeping people from getting inside, and I see him bullying tyson around the ring with his superior strength. Tyson could win since Vitali does that stupid sh!t with his hands down, but as soon as he tries to come in, Vitali is tying him up and pushing him around the ring.
Foreman-This is a toss up. Foreman is a big puncher, has the reach and could possibly catch vitali with something big. What I think Fvcks Foreman in this is that Foreman Stamina is sh!t and he is very undsicpline and can be baited into fighting the fight his opponent wants. Vitali knows this and I see Vitali taken him into the later rounds and picking him apart.
With that said...I find it difficult to find more than a handful of boxers in the history of the Heavyweight division that could beat Vitali. Vitali is a tall fighter that fights tall (6-7 250), is very strong, has great feet, a solid chin, and is very intelligent boxer.
Louis stands a chance for sure.
Joe is clearly the greater fighter of the two. Whether he is great enough to overcome the size disadvantage he would have against the super-tough Vitali would be my concern. I'm sure Ali would be able to do it, not so sure about Joe.
Louis if anyone could deal with a size disadvantage in my opinion.
It might be that he would just get caught on the chin and fall over, but he does hold advantages in handspeed, punching technique, accuracy, counter punching, etc.
I'm not sure if Vitali has ever had to deal with anything like that aside from when he fought Corrie Sanders, who was years past his best, overweight and very sloppy in his approach. Sanders tagged Vitali fairly often early on but then again he was 2 inches taller than Louis and a southpaw.
Carnera, Abe Simon and the other super heavyweights Louis fought weren't Vitali Klitschko but he disposed of all of them in impressive fashion.
At the very least I'd give him a better chance to beat Vitali than someone like Rocky Marciano who never truly fought a world class heavyweight over 200 pounds. Louis proved he could take on a 6'6, 250+ opponent even if he met no one of that size with the overall skill-set of Vitali Klitschko.
Louis stands a chance for sure.

Joe Louis is one of those rare boxers that was ahead of his time. His skills are very modern despite boxing in the 30's and 40's. His fights against Billy Conn, Max Schmeling, Jersey Joe Walcott, and Ezzard Charles prove that. I don't think the size disadvantage is an issue at all, because unlike Chris Byrd, Joe Louis definitely packed power.
Louis stands a chance for sure.

I agree with the list, but, not sure about Louis.
Would he? No one can say for sure.
Could he? Surely. He was a great fighter after all.
Watch these fights and tell me why he doesn't stand a chance:
I doubt you even watched the byd vitali fight because it wasnt even close. that was a gift win for byrd against a green vitali that improved tons since that fight
I did watch the fight, Byrd had his moments and yes Vitali was clearly winning. But Byrd wasn't doing bad for an undersized heavyweight. If Byrd knew he had the power to hurt Vitali, the fight would of been more competitive. And lol green Vitali, whatever.
You're an idiot, if Chris Byrd can put up a good fight against Vitali than can many of the ATG's. Size isn't everything idiot because guys like Liston, Louis, Maricano, Ezzard Charles have the POWER to hurt Vitali and have the boxing skills to outbox Vitali.

Ali beats him by relatively easy UD.
Foreman KOs Vitali in a tough fight.
Lennox did beat him, obviously he would.
Frazier, not sure, the size and power of Vitali would really mess with him, but Frazier could get inside better than anyone. Once he got there it would be his fight.
Larry Holmes would win a tough UD.
Guys from back in the day like Louis and Marciano and Dempsey simply wouldn't stand a chance, they were much smaller and less athletic, like already said they were cruiserweights.
Marciano? Look, Rocky is probably my favorite heavy of all time, but Christ, buddy...he'd have to have a goddamned step ladder to even reach Vitali's chin.
No, you're right, they're not at all unbeatable, but nobody seems to have found the Klitschko antidote yet. The only one who beat Vitali in any convincing manner was Lewis, and I feel that either guy could've taken control after the 6th, had Lewis not opened the cut that gave him the stoppage. I was leaning in Vitali's direction, personally, and thought he was getting ready to come on strong again in the next round.
Again, he's big mutherfukking trouble for any heavy, of any era, no matter the name of the ATG he stands in front of.
Marciano is a true slugger he bobs, weaves, and slips punches than springs up to attack his opponents unlike Arreola and Peter. Yeah he's big, but Marciano, Fraizer, etc is also capable of hurting Vitali.
Well put some put some points up coward. I wouldn't mind taking all your points.
When the fight happens, I don't know if Chambers will fight Wladimir or Vitali first.
I'll give you a good reason why, Vitali isn't like his brother Wladimir. Wladimir is text book he's a better boxer than his brother and because his punches are sharper and more "text book" he's capable of knocking out opponents much faster. Those arm punches that Vitali throws won't work against Chambers like it did against Arreola. Shit lets bet right now, I'll bet you 30k.
Size isn't everything boxers just need to be big enough in the heavyweight divison, Marciano is VERY capable of knocking out Vitali. The Klitschko's are not unbeatable as some of their fans think they are. Most boxers during the 70's and before that were ACTUALLY in shape and had a good skill set, compared to the heavyweights today. Eddie Chambers is a small heavyweight and he is very capable of outboxing Vitali Klitschko, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Eddie Chambers will outbox Vitali, I guarantee you that. Chambers just won't outbox Wladimir though.

Yeah...well, that's the thing, he didn't, really, not at all. Vitali was ahead on all cards, and most felt he was fairly dominant and sure to win.
And while size may not be everything....it's almost everything, for sure. The bigger the difference in size, the less skilled the bigger guy needs to be to beat a highly skilled smaller guy. And not only is Vitali a big, big guy, he's pretty damned good at keeping distance, slipping counters, and is a very accurate puncher.
Like I said before, I'm not saying he'd certainly beat a list of the ATG's, but he'd be big fucking trouble for them, each and every one, and had he been fighting in the 50's to the 80's, we might very well be remembering how Vitali was "The Greatest", rather than Ali.

a few things I don't get with these responses
How is a:
6-1 208 Joe Louis
5-10 188 Rocky Marciano
6-1 205(in prime around 190) Jack Johnson
5-11 210-215 Joe Frazier
6-1 190 Jack Dempsey
6-0 190 Gene Tunney
6-0 200 Ezzard Charles
6-1 200 Max Schmelling
5-6 1/2 185 Sam Langford
6-0 220 Sonny Liston
6-0 190 Floyd Patterson
5-11 225 Mike Tyson
All these guys above...I give little to now chance of beating him. They are too small and they styles would be predicating on getting inside, something vitali would allow (He is one of the greatest ever at keeping distance). Also If you know about throwing punches and upward trajectory..you would know that it would be difficult to knock some one like Vitali out. I know Dempsey done in Willard, but willard was there to be hit all day and didnt fight tall at all.
Now guys like Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Lewis, Norton, & Bowe are all guys that I see match up with him good, It's just that Foreman and Bowe both lack discipline and Foreman gets gassed after 6 while Bowe just doesnt train hard and lacks mental focus. But with that said I respect everyone's opinion and I do recognized that anything can happen in any fight.
True but you can't really compare greatness in different eras. Yes i know boxing moguls tend to make everyone who is old an ATG and everyone currently fighting a bum but nevermind that. Vitali would square off well with most people in any era. Back in the day there weren't such big people fighting and that doesn't take anything away from those folks as it shouldn't take anything away from Vitali. It's like soccer, would Pele be considered the best ever if he was matched against today's defenses? Hell no.
Could beat him, because I think anyone that is honest would have a hard time doing so.

Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Bowe, and Holmes would all easily handle both brothers from the Ukraine,
Another thing is I'm speaking from personal experience. I'm a pretty big guy myself (6-8 245) and I'm licking my chops any time a go against anyone 6-1 or under. It doesn't matter how fast quick or strong they are....I just use my long as arms and height against them. Not just that but I've been on the other side because in my teen years I was shorter until I hit 2 or 3 growth spurts.
In any sport, more than any other physical attribute, height and length are the most difficult things to overcome. You can time speed and use angles to cut people off. You can circle away from power or use footwork. When people are longer and taller, if they are good at using there arm length to keep distance and swarm you whenever you get inside....that is a nightmare for shorter guys.
Just because Vitali TKO'ed some of the most unskilled sluggers like Peter and Arreola, doesn't mean Marciano, Fraizer, Tyson, etc or are on their level. Because Marciano, Fraizer, and Tyson ARE MUCH better boxers than Peter and Arreola, watch this video.
