Pacquiaos sparring partner = Cotto clone

His jab is weak and he is kinda slow. He seems to have power and is about the right build. Cotto does try to be slick and I guess some of the body movement was similar, but not really. Then again who else can mimick Cotto?

hmmmm....I didnt see much that looked liked Cotto, style wise. they look alike body-type wise, but...thats it. fights more like Mosley to me. good sparring partner, all the same.

The jab is the number 1 thing i saw. His jab is NOTHING like Cotto's. He is much more wild, and moves in a little wrecklessly. You are watching a young prospect vs an old journyman. Stupid to compare this guy to Cotto. Do yourself a favor. Watch some of Cotto's fights and then make a guess on what Cotto's style is like. Because Porter is not it.

what division is this guy in?? he looks too big for pacman to spar! Middleweight Pac has already sparred with him for 3 rounds. So far so good. But he needs middleweight sparring partners with one-shot KO power to really push Manny to the breaking point. That'll really prepare him for Cotto.

I cant see the cotto resemblense. He does indeed look a little like mosley without the upright stance. He seems to have great fast feet and great reflexes and head movement. After reading about his amature experience i will be keeping a very very close eye on this guy. he looks like a very very good talent.

No, not a Cotto clone. Porter's a solid fighter and a very good prosepect though. It's good sparring, but you can't compare who Pacquiao's sparring to Miguel Cotto.

yea but its probably easy for an elite fighter to jab that porter guy and he is not a precise as cotto and moves his head in unnecssary movements his timing is way off compared to a miguel cotto he is hitting the air a whole lot against a 36 year old. Idk man its a good sparring partner to prepare for some of cotto but isnt gonna exactly win you the fight.

he is little similar to cotto guys c'mon. He does the whole head ducking and movement. Im really interested in hearing how pacquiao sparrs against this guy, my guess is he outworks him, but then again you got the head gear from sparring. its a clear challenge for pacman. only thing though is this guy is not nearly as smart as cotto, he overuses the head ducking and his footwork actually kind of opens him up (hard to say though cuz he is coming forward most of this fight. Props to freddie though for getting that guy, much more than i can say for nachos sparring partners for jmm, but i still got cotto in this fight.

The big question for Pac's camp coming into this fight is if he can handle someone that big. The size, strength all that. This guy seems to possess the same height and weight as Cotto + more.
