I'm not sure if he honestly thought that in the first place. Does anyone think that if that was truly his view as he said, it may have changed slightly?I think the fact that Mayweather is using the jab again makes things a little harder to come up with a game plan to beat him. Roach is good at putting together a game plan though so it should be interesting. Discuss.
I am happy Floyd really didn't press the issue, JMM is a pround and tough dude if Floyd really pressed his advantages and JMM didn't want to go away that can lead to bad things, JMM took a bad beating as it was no need for it to be worse.
im not referring to the number of small guys he fought. i was just hoping that he would throw more combinations and engage a bit when fighting a small guy. its a shame that he cant KO a lightweight but i give him props for the peformance
I'm happy he didn't KO Marquez because I like the guy. As far as being KOed there are just some guys who are tough as hell. Juan Urango would lose to all the top welters if he went up to 147 lbs permantly but I have a feeling that all of them would have an issue knocking him out.
Floyd hasn't fought to many small guys since leaving 135. I think depending on the type of fight you may get different approaches by Floyd.
Yea Floyd fought JMM rather differently then he normally fights but it was perfect because JMM could not do anything. Floyd's versitility is a major reason why he is so good.

hopefully when floyd is fighting a small guy, he will be willing to engage and throw combinations. maybe that way he can knock his opponent out

A knock out would have been good. But the one sided beat down to me got the point across and probaly helped dude get his timing back. Hopefully in time some big fights happen that answer out questions.

I don't think he ever meant it tbh. He was just taking a shot at Mayweather. Roach knows boxing inside out and if you know boxing u know PBF isn't the easiest fight for Pac - in fact Pacs probably tailor made for Mayweather.
thats funny how to pretty quick south paws, Judah and Corley were able to catch and ROCK Mayweather...and that's just what Pac is..except he is a better fighter than Corely and doesnt fade like Judah......
He never truly believed that. Pac was lookin at the top WW's, and all of them should beat him. Cotto is the slowest and most vulnerable, and he should still be favored imo.
Cotto could probably hurt and finish Pac...Floyd cant hurt and finish a light weight.. He is too defensive when you apply effective agression.
I don't think Roachclips ever really thought Mayweather was the easiest guy out there. Although I did see a couple of interviews in which he stated that. Freddie Roach used to be a very humble and nice fellow, but has lost the respect of several boxing fans I talk to as well as myself, who feel that he now thinks just because he has a world class p4p fighter, he can do or say whatever he wants. Freddie's time is coming.
Roach has trained a few world class p4p fighters....

theres no reason left for floyd not to stop jmm. he made a lightweight move up to welter, a guy who never fought above 135. he didnt make the 144 limit and refused to weigh on fight night maybe because hes weighing too much against a guy who came to the fight at 148. if humberto soto moved up from 130 to 140 looking fat, weak and slow to fight pac and he didnt get knocked out, the world shits on pac. if katsidis moved up from 135 to 147 looking fat, weak and slow to fight cotto and didnt get knocked out, people will shit on cotto

GTFO When will Floyd bring Money. He cant sell nothing. Manny will sell and make a TON with who ever he fights. People like to watch Manny fight. Key word: FIGHT! Who the fukk wants to watch a boring ass Mayweather fight LOL LOL ! Delusional :cool2:
Come on man
dont let manny d-ick get in your way
Floyd vs Cotto, Manny, or SSM would be huge! cause of all involved
JMM isn't the easiest dude to stop. I think Jmm put on a bit too much weight as well. He shaould have came in around 142 fight night as opposed to 148 fight night. Still though. Mayweather hits and doesn't give many oppertunites to get hit back. Cotto at least will be more of a target. I think Cotto has a great shot in the fight and many are over looking him. If Pac were to get past Cotto I would love to see the gameplan they would have for Mayweather.

None in my opinion. In Numbers Mayweather of course. Altough the SSM fights were great i wasnt as stoked as i was with the Tito fight. Tito brought that fire to the table! The point is he didnt go down hill in his popularity. Win or lose he was in there with some big names. He was becomimg more popular outside the ring as he was inside the ring. He kept up his golden boy image and made more fans along the way. His prime was great and he was huge. The thing is he remained huge and got more popular with the normal household casual Fan base. Example: My mom isnt a fan of boxing. Does not know who Tito is or Mayweather for that fact. Has no interest in boxing at all, but knows who DLH is and has seen some of his fights and for the life of her dont know anyone hes fought. LOL !!! There are tons of Casual Fans who dont care about boxing and its fighters that only ride the hype train.
The reason i asked that was because Oscar never did those numbers again even though you claim he got more popular he did less buys. Only the Floyd fight was bigger.
350k us buys is pretty lame no matter whos fighting who. I agree the US played a big part of building Hatton up. Its a buisness . He sold tickets and won fights and was undefeated. He was prime for a mega fight. I think Mayweather would have made more $$ if he went over ther to fight him though!
350 buys is lame if you are Oscar. Its decent if you have a name facing a nobody. Was it Lame when pac vs Diaz did 250k buys?
That's nonsense Pull.
Come-forward fighters are lunch meals for Pacquiao.
Mayweather is a boxer, a boxer is always the toughest fight for a fighter.
You mean swarmer ****o
mayweather doesn't deal well with southpaws and his defense's only gap is for a left hand down the pipe. a 12 round judah or manny pacquiao are the most likely to beat him
The southpaw intrigues me but I still think adjustments on both sides will decide the outcome. Its a chess match for the ages.
