It wasn't a complete domination, JMM made it competitive for the most part. I've seen Marquez come out in way worse shape than in the Mayweather fight. Take the KD away and the fight doesn't even seem half all that bad, only very boring.
Marquez is way too thick in the mid section now though, it hinders his foot speed and he doesn't really have that bounce anymore.
Anyways, sorta pisses me off how biased HBO was and just about everyone else. Just because Mayweather is apparently making it look easy, doesn't mean it is. Mayweather in no way shape or form was dominating Marquez. Winning? yes, I can live with that.
The score cards were ridiculous. I gave Marquez at least 3 rounds, you could argue some others to.
Are you a rational human being? Marquez landed one good punch because Floyd let him. He landed over 200 more punches. Fukk it, YOu didnt see the fight quit bull sh*ttin
well marquez let floyd hit him with 200 punches so there!
At this present time I don't respect Mayweathers bravery, or personality, but I do respect his dedication to his art, and his overall boxing mastery. Even though Marquez was thoroughly overmatched, and handicapped, no other welterweight could have dominated, and embarassed him like Mayweather did.
I'm reasoned enough to know that Mayweather has had two years out of the sport, and needed a tough, tune up, to ease him back into the game. So I'm not going to stand here and give him zero credit for the victory. A two year layoff is a disadvantage in itself, and Mayweather stepped back into the ring like he had never left, and beat one of todays boxing greats without breaking a sweat. Give credit, where credit is due. Both fighters had advantages and disadvantages, but at the end of the day, the better boxer won. Even if he had 20 fights at welterweight, Marquez could never beat Mayweather.
However, I still believe he has to fight Cotto, Mosely, and Pacquiao, to be remembered as one of the greatest sportsman in history. He can't let other great fighters like Pacquiao do the hard work for him, and then beat Pacquiao and claim to be better than Cotto, Margarito, and Mosely without ever fighting them.
Boxing is about getting rid of the question marks. And while Floyd has got rid of most of them, he still has a few left to answer.
them_apples is a Pacquiao nuthugger trying to discredit PBF's impressive domination of a guy who beat Pac twice.
I am a huge JMM fan, but he won 1 round at the most and the size, sharpness and overall skills of Mayweather were far too much for him. PBF carried Marquez in that fight.
I also love how you change the subject every time I make a good point and prove you wrong.
Floyd was accused of not fighting a prime WW, I named Baldomir
Baldomir was accused of being bad comp, I said he was ranked #1 and was the undisputed champ.
Now I'm being asked who did he beat besides the guy that made him have that #1 ranking.
Seriously, you guys are pathetic. Where do yo plan to take this debate?
Who did Baldomir beat besides Judah?
and no, the only prime welter Floyd fought was Judah,
right after he lost to Carlos.
But again, who else did Baldomir beat?
His claim to faim was Judah and Gatti. He also beat Clottey, but that doesn't matter, he was ranked #1. It's irrelevant if he beat anyone else of importance, because he beat Judah, and by doing that he became the undisputed champ.

Clottey... You silly bitch
:owned2:
A guy who hadn't lost in more than 8 years and was considered the Cinderella Man in boxing with two victories over two famous fighters while being the underdog.
And when did he prove he couldn't compete at WW? He hadn't lost in 8 years and had been top 10 A LONG TIME. All of a sudden, Floyd beats him, and he was never shit to begin with and everyone forgot about him afterwards.
well i was talking about judah. (mayweathers other great win) judah lost to spinks, mayweather, baldomir, cotto, and clottey. i would say thats proof he's not very effective at the weight. 5 losses to 1 good win over spinks. oh wait i forgot he beat cosme rivera and some indian guy my bad!
as for baldomir. firstly lol. second of all baldomir didn't fight anyone for 8 years cept clottey where he got a gift dq after losing the first 10 rounds and mickey rodriguez(the same guy berto beat up for lols and some crappy belt)
then he beat judah and gatti who might be famous but are hardly good welterweights if you look at how they have faired at that weight. baldomir lost 2 out of his next 3 and his win was a MD over a journeyman that most think he lost. mayweather probably beat him up so bad thats why........
MY ranking system? You must have extremely poor short-term memory, because Baldomir was the UNDISPUTED WW champ. I'm not making shit up.
You said he was number 1.
So again,
why not fight the other guys who were number one?
I'm guessing because they were actually a threat.
No, thank YOU for changing the subject and proving me right in the process. I replied to "he never fought a prime welter". I didn't say his competition at WW was the most impressive I'd ever seen. He beat the #1 ranked WW, took the title away from his opponent, something Miguel Cotto hasn't been able to do. Judah did it against Spinks and Baldomir did it against Judah, and Floyd beat them both.

Are you kidding me? "Mayweather in no way shape or form was dominating Marquez. Winning?" Didn't you see the compubox results?
People don't get excited when a HUGE favorite wins the fight by a landslide. Because there was never any doubt to prove otherwise. On the flipside, Pac totally dominating DLH was different because many critics and even most on here viewed that fight as a DLH favorite instead of Pac.
Does your ranking system hold true for Margarito as well?
Or Shane Mosley right now?

Thanks for trying.

No, not because of that. Because he was ranked #1 is why he was the best in the world.

lol at Baldomir being a prime welter.
So because he got lucky in his once of a lifetime chance,
hes suddenly one of the best in the world?
Theres a reason why he lost his next fight.
The competition was that much better than the flake he won the title from. The same flake who lost that same title to Corey Spinks.
No, not because of that. Because he was ranked #1 is why he was the best in the world.
a 36 year old journeyman who scored a fluke win over an overrated fighter(judah) who proved he can't compete at welterweight. that's a prime fighter?

You must've missed the Baldomir fight in November 2006...
