Even if JMM loses to Floyd, he will still be p4p #2 IMHO. Usually if a p4p fighter loses, I drop them a few slots down or off the list completely if they get murked.
BUT, the circumstances of the Floyd/JMM fight are so skewed in favor of Floyd, I won't drop JMM from his spot, even in the worst scenario (JMM gets brutally KTFO in round 1).
But you want to see Marquez-Pacquiao III? and Mayweather-Pacquiao? But Marquez is too small for Mayweather?:slap:
I'd rather see floyd/pac because jmm is too small.
im willing to bet floyd and marquez weigh within 5lbs of each other.
yeah, they will, but this matter less than jmm jumping 2 weight divisions without getting acclimated the the access weight.
manny weighed in at 142, and came in 149. i think juan will do about the same..
agreed
floyd doesnt blow up. he's always in great shape.
agreed... I just dunno why his bitch ass couldn't make 144 since he doesn't blow up and is in great shape... do you know?
he'll be about 150-151.. but like i said, size wont matter.
size does matter. pbf been fighting at WW for a while now. JMM has never fought about LW.
he's just too fast and too good.
but mostly too big... too strong.
i think juans better than manny, but manny has more natural athleticism that helps him at the higher weights.. he can get away with more risks cause he has more speed and explosive power..
yeah, but let's bring floyd into this... floyd is as skilled as jmm, but he has more natural athleticism than jmm... result: A MUTHAFUKKIN MISMATCH
if juan beats you, its cause he's better than you. if manny beats you, its cause either he's better than you OR he got lucky. and by lucky, i mean he has the kind of speed and power to land a clean shot and change the entire fight! thats why he has 2 wins on marquez now.
lol... yeah.. pac got lucky and landed the perfect shot on hatton and dropped him like a sack of potatoes. :slap:
the truth is, everyone has to maximize their natural gifts and minimize their natural limitations.
pac's training maximizes his natural gifts. that doesn't mean he get's lucky.
Doesnt fukking matter...JMM took the fight knowing the risk..which means he risks his #2 spot...OBVIOUSLY.
nope, jmm thought floyd was gonna make 144 lbs. it wasn't until friday that they alerted jmm's camp that floyd couldn't / didn't wan to make weight.
um as far as the weight goes. floy NEVER SAID the fight was at 144. the media said it. juan knew days before the weigh in floyd wasnt gonna be 144.
doesn't matter. everyone expected floyd to be 144 lbs.
did you see floyd? the guy was shredded! we've never seen him that lean, and thats saying a lot! so obviously he took training seriously. ever think maybe he didnt have an extra 2lbs to cut??
he was drinking soda while he was training. I'm sure he if cut that out of his diet while he was training, he'd have cut teh 2 lbs.
maybe thats why he never signed for 144 in the first place? theres no exact science to making weight.
nah, he never intended to make 144 lbs. in all his interviews he said he was right on track w/ the weight. he was never gonna come in at 144 lbs.
i guess you would have rather him come in depleted and cheat the fans by giving a dela-hydrated performance, and and cut his career short.. that wouldve been the smarter thing, right??
but floyd stans have been telling us that floyd is a small WW and he can still make 140 lbs!
c'mon man.... floyd has destroyed all his excuses.
the funny thing is, anybody who knows boxing knows floyd isnt gonna beat juan because he's bigger. he's just better than juan.
how do we know if floyd isn't gonna make weight?
they couldve weighed in at 144, it wouldnt matter..
then why didn't floyd make weight if it didn't matter?
so if Mayweather weighed 144 Marquez would have more of a shot to win?
:slap:
yes, muthafukka... the closer to 135 lbs floyd gets, the better jmm's chances of winning.
so since he isnt the Favorite to win, if he loses he should stay #2?
nice logic Einstein
jmm was a 5-1 underdog... that alot! if vegas oddsmakers knew floyd had no intention of making 144 lbs, jmm would be a 10-1 underdog
He asked for the fight..KNOWING the risk involved which means he risks his number 2 spot...boxing doesnt work like that.
nope. jmm didn't know floyd wasn't even going to attempt to make 144 lbs. he, like us all, assumed floyd was gonna try and make 144 lbs.
the unequal circumstances force me to give jmm an exception in this fight. this isn't a real fight. its an exhibition. its the same as when Ali fought that pro-wrestler.
the funny thing is, floyd is a lot closer to juans size, than he is to oscars size @54! but the people clamoring about floyd being bigger than juan, discredit him for fighting the much bigger oscar..
the difference is that oscar wasn't prime and floyd was. and floyd didn't jump from 140 to 154 to fight dlh.
in this fight, floyd and jmm are both prime, but jmm is just way too small.
its one thing to KO a guy thats a lb lighter than you.. lets see manny KO a guy 15 lbs heavier..
wtf? how did pac get into this?
He asked for the fight..KNOWING the risk involved which means he risks his number 2 spot...boxing doesnt work like that.
There is no risk in this fight for Marquez, besides his health. Win or lose, he has everyone's respect and would still deserve another fight with Pac. At 36, and jumping up TWO FULL WEIGHT CLASSES, he gets a free pass tonight, win or lose.
so since he isnt the Favorite to win, if he loses he should stay #2?
nice logic Einstein
Did Marquez lose a spot when he lost to Pac the last time? No, because he was expected to lose to the best fighter in the world, Einstein.
you don't think paulie beat diaz?
This was way back. And since Diaz was never a top 10 fighter, a win over him at above his weight shouldn't get someone there anyway.
Doesnt fukking matter...JMM took the fight knowing the risk..which means he risks his #2 spot...OBVIOUSLY.
How does Marquez lose ground for losing a fight he is expected to?
I respect JMM a great deal and even I don't agree with this. The only way I could see it is if Floyd got a gift decision. JMM should drop a couple spots if he loses this fight decisively, but I think that Mayweather also should not automatically be #2. That reward should go to Paul Williams if he beats Kelly Pavlik. That is a guy who is really challenging himself even though Pavlik is a novice compared to JMM in the boxing skill department.
Where would you have Floyd? Or would it depend on how impressive he looks? Because some people think he should automatically jump back to #1 (which is absurd.)
I'm gonna be forced to make pac #1a and pbf #1b.
