After completing hours and hours watching all Cotto and Pacquiao fights as I could get, I have arrived to this conclution.
Pacquiao will get his job done on Cotto by 6 or 7 rounds. Cotto lasted to rd 11 and and 12 with Margarito and Clottey respectively because they both started the damage late, around the middle of the fight.
That wont be the case with the Pacman because the punching volume, pressition and accuracy will start right at the bell and will never stop. By the middle round Cotto face will look like the end rounds of his previous fights and tireness will show up also prematurely.
Under those circustances, if you are someone that really has followed not just boxing but Manny Pacquiao then you should know the rest of the story.
The more I watch, the more I feel that Cotto will beat Pacman. Cotto will hit you, even the most elusive fighters have been hit (and often) by Cotto and Pacman has never EVER been hit by a fighter as strong and precise as Cotto. This alone is one aspect of the adversity that Pacman hasnt dealt with, and we won't know how he will deal with it until he gets in there with Cotto.
Of course your gonna root for your Puerto Rican brotha...your name is Macho Time...lol
Having said that Cotto is too slow and lethargic for the Power Punching Pacquaoi. Cotto fights backwards at a slow controlled pace...he wont be able to do that against Manny.
None of those guys you mention possess the skill set, power and quickness that Pacquiao has. Quick hands for a couple of combinations here and there and far in between yes.
So cause pac beat a zombie Oscar and a punching bag in hatton all of a sudden he has more power than SSM and Zab
hahahahahha:spank:
cotto would do 1 better then hatton , i mean 1 rd better an get ko'd n the 2 rd
Hatton got Ko'd in the 2nd round too so how can Cotto one up him?
:wtf1: is this guy talking about?
Cotto would have to be tired first before Pac could unleash the kinda assaults that could put him away. No fukkin way he stops Cotto inside 6-7. In fact, I think he goes down within that range.
You have to take in consideration that Cotto went to the distance with some tough fighters
1. Shane Mosley
2. Antonio Margarito
3. Joshua Clottey
4. Paul Malignaggi
5. Lovemore N'dou
How Many times have you seen these guys get Knock out by anyone?
Paul Malignaggi has a TKO lost against Hatton because he was losing not because he was hurt.

Let me ask you a serious question. Is english your primary language, (which i presume it is)..and if it is, were you drinking much when you wrote this?

I completely agree. Cotto wont be able to handle the speed and accuracy. Manny tho has to come into this fight respecting and fearing Cotto's power he cant take this fight like the Larios fight where he almost got himself KO'd in the 3rd because he was getting overconfident. If he executes the perfect fight plan then there should be no doubt in my mind that Cotto wil get stopped or KO'd somewhere in the middle rounds.
I don't see Pac going toe to toe with Miguel. He needs to jump in and out, but even doing that, he's going to get hit with something in return. I want to see how he reacts to Cotto's punch.
I don't care what anyone says. Pacquiao will beat Cotto and that's that. I think he'll win by decision, though. Pacquiao will be too fast for Cotto and once he lands his flurry he'll be outta there.
And for the people saying don't look at the Clottey fight. What else can we look at? That's his most recent fight. If Cotto fights like he did that night, I'm sure Pacquiao has the win.
what fights did you watch?
i think for cotto you gotta watch the mosley, judah, and corley fights to see how cotto handles speed and southpaws... then watch the margo and clottey fights for how cotto's style looks recently... I'd even throw in the jennings fight because cotto had to deal with jenning's mobility until he landed the KO punch.
None of those guys you mention possess the skill set, power and quickness that Pacquiao has. Quick hands for a couple of combinations here and there and far in between yes.
If Cotto just had better stamina i'd give him a good shot at beating Manny
but he always gets tired and begins to back peddle in his fights this will utimately be his downfall he simply just cannot afford to get tierd against a guy like Pac.....
Exactly, but I dont think he works out good enough and thats why he gains so much weight during fight time.
Cotto should also stop back peddling too much like you mention, especially in the beginning rounds. If he does this he gets more fatigue. He should grabble a little more inside. That's what older fighters like Hopkins and Mosley do a bit instead of running. The more cotto moves his legs the more he will get tired.
Well only time will tell in what round Cotto will KO'd but for now we only can specutale. Cotto can prepare as he wish so can Pacquiao, at the end all will be the same, dont buy the better shape and focus of my life remarks. Come fight night and Cotto will be punished simply because Pacquio is on another level of his own in this particular era.
cotto gets knocked out early in the fight.. cotto doesnt have a great defense matter of fact he always seems to have taken alot of punishment after every fight.. manny's speed and accuracy would be to much for cotto... then marquez will beat pacquiao AGAIN
