Paul Williams will be the next pound 4 pound king no matter how many duck him , and i can't blame them 4 not wanting fight with him , his height ,work rate , power , chin ,movement and his chin. i think he will be Cotto ,Pacquio,Mayweather,Dawson,Calzaghe,Mosley,Hopkins and Pavlik.
To be honest, as some people have said...i can't see anyone in the welterweight or light middleweight divisions that would beat him...maybe if he moved up a little but at 147 and 154 i don't see him losing for a long long time...that includes Cotto, SSM, Pacquiao, Clottey, Margarito, and Floyd.
mmm... Lets see.. Calderon, would smack him up.. Umm.. Doniare would make him his bitch.. And oh yea.. Im sure quintana would whoop him up.. Oh wait.. He already did.. :lol1:
**warning**
stop believing all this paul williams hype.. He has not fought anyone that is elite.. Once he does he will get schooled.. All this dick riding you guys are doing for this guy is getting sickening... Thank you!
calderon ?who would pay to see him you must be rican .doniare is like a bantemweight as for quintana yup he got his knock da 4uck out n da rematch
The main problems is people keep repeating what idiots like Larry Merchant, Jim lampley, Harold Ledderman, Max Keller, etc. have to say. They baptize somone as "the unstoppable" or the "pound for pound greatest" or whatever other bullshit they can come up with, and the lemmings start to follow. People, get to know your boxer, check his stats, follow his record and definitely scrutinize his resume, and maybe you'll get a better clue of who's who in the ring. Remember, Hype Sells!!!!, and the more these commentators, promotors and managers can hype a guy up, the better their chances of getting our hard earned cash. The real sport is spoken in the ring by the guys taking and dishing out the hits, not the tuxedoed asses sitting on the sidelines.
I COULDN'T AGREE WITH U MORE BUT IF LISTEN TO BOXING POLITICS DOESN'T SWAY MY COMMENTS,RECORDS AND ALL THAT PAPER DOESN'T MEAN SHIT N MY BOOK .THIS GUY HAS TOOLS THAT U CAN'T PUT ON PAPER JUST FILM . YOU THINK FIGHTERS LIKE MANNY IS NUMBER ONE BECAUSE U SEE HIS PICTURE

carlos quintana took williams to boxing school...no lucky one punch knockouts either. Decisive unanimous decision. Too bad he got overconfident in the rematch, or it would have been a repeat.
i dont know bout school but it was a good first fight

sorry but this thread is pure hype. Who did williams fight at 160? 168? 175?
Winky...? C'mon!
Let's wait and see how good he is when he's been tested against genuine a-grade opposition at these higher weights. If the pavlik fight ever happens and williams whoops him then by all means start talking him up, until then he's a very good ww/lmw.
winky is well respected

i hope you don't mean william's. The reason he hasn't been dropped is because of his great chin, not because he is some defensive master.
checklist ( great chin )desent power ,reach and height, stamina and workrate (1000 punches ) and elusive movement is defensive.do you know how it is to look good against winky wright.still good 4 his age
147 - nobody can beat pwill
154 - none can beat pwill
160 - maybe pavlik
168 - pwill can beat b class and below boxers, but struggles w/ a class boxers
175 - pwill can beat c fighters, but not b to a boxers
good student of the game he just has what other boxers dont

There a reason he's never been knock down you can't hit what u can't see

Alot of names are out there , i'm just saying that has what it takes to be a great champion and all questions would have been answered if so many boxers was ducking him.
I want to know what the hell has he done to get so much hype?
I can understand if he was blowing people away by knockout but lets face it he out pointing his opposition. His work rate is impressive as is his super long reach and above average height but he has not been that impressive. I think he is going to walk right through one dimensional Pavlik.
I honestly think Mosley can put him down, Cotto would have a good shot, Martinez will find his way and out work him.
I hope he either shuts me up and starts knocking fools out or he is put in his place.
He hasnt impressed me enough to be calling him the most ducked or feared man in boxing.
I think he is very beatable. He has an untested chin and a pourous D.
