I think that Marquez is taking this Mayweather fight for nothing more than a payday.
I don't know if he really thinks he can beat this guy. Personally I can't see anyway that Marquez can beat Floyd. Floyd is bigger, stronger, hits harder, is quicker and has almost every intangible in this fight.
I love Marquez don't get me wrong. I will be rooting for him to win but I think that he wasn't given the 3rd Pacman fight and he decided he's 36 years old and needs to get paid. I don't blame him, I just don't want to see him get hurt or knocked out.
Marquez is an ATG, his resume speaks for itself. The man has fought the best and beat the best. He came up in a div that was arguably one of the toughest and deepest ever and is the last one standing.
He doesn't have great speed, strength, power or even a great chin. Yet he has managed to beat the best because he's probably the best PURE boxer and most intelligent fighter in the world today.
He is like a coach in the ring and coming from a trainer like me, that's a dream come true. When your fighter sees things at the same time you do, that's a quality you hardly ever will find in a fighter.
It's a shame that he didn't get the 3rd Manny fight because the more time that passes by and the more fights he has, he slips farther and farther away from his ability to beat someone like Manny.
I just hope it's a competitive fight between him and Floyd.
JMM is comin to win. The $ is a nice bed to fall back on, but he got too much pride and heart to fight just for $. The fact that he took this suicide mission as means of gettin to Pac shows how much of a warrior JMM is. War Dinamita! :boxing:
It may seem like that, but in boxing there is no one like Marquez, he know his time is running out, but he is always aspiring to be far above the competition and believe me he does think he can beat Mayweather.
Floyd may have more skill than him, but not more heart and I'm 100% sure Juan wants it more.
How bad do you want it? Ask Juan Manuel Marquez how bad does he wants it.
I think it is two things to be honest and one is the pay day no doubt. I do also think that JMM has proved all he needs to prove against a certain level of guys and really does not need to fight guys like Juan Diaz anymore, so why not shoot for the stars. If he gets beat by Floyd so be it he tried to aim for the moon and fell short no shame in that, if somehow he is able to win that would be the biggest thing he could accomplish no matter the excuses that would pop up afterwards.
I agree though I do not want to see JMM get beat badly (and tend to think Floyd will beat him badly) as I do really like him as a fighter, I favor Floyd but I believe that JMM is a great fighter and I believe that great fighters should never be counted out.
I agree and I just want to see a good fight. I'm rooting my ass off for Marquez but I just think this might have been more than he could chew.
I've thought he was cashing out since he first mentioned Floyds name.
Its not really that hard to see.
36
downside of career
been hit alot in most recent fights
time to make as much as possible.

Well, he's got nothing to lose. He's coming up multiple weight divisions to fight the former P4P king. A loss will not diminish his legacy or current standing as one of the best P4P fighters in the sport. It's a challenge that he feels he can win. He's better than a lot of the fighters on Floyd's resume; I think he's got a good shot at pulling it off. We'll have to wait to see, but I'm pulling for Dinamita in this one...

It is what it is....... Marquez has no business fighting Floyd at that weight. He knows it, so does Nacho and everybody else.
i suddenly had a vision that jmm will lose huge fights in a row to pbf,pac and end his career w/ a couple of wins over good prospects.
same story for most.

its a payday. jmm is just showing up for the check... if he wins that's great too, but he'll be happy just going 12 rounds.
This is clearly not a payday for JMM. You can tell by how he acts that he thinks he's got what it takes to win. Sometimes he looks so convinced that it makes the Mayweather fight look nothing more than just a stepping to a more important fight closer to JMM's heart, which would be a 3rd Pacquaio showdown.
Listen,I believe most boxing fans want JMM to win,big heart, doesn't cherrypick, called out the bigger, stronger, faster fighter in floyd!!But the reality is that floyd is supposed to beat him, that's the only reason why this fight was made!!:boxing:
Come on. The dude drinks piss for this fight... He definately want's to win it.
lol, damn right, he's not planning on just a payday...it's going to be really interesting with Mayweather trying to showoff and Marquez trying to win against all odds...
Im glad Jmm doesnt log into this site, fuk everybody's given up on him even his own people. Im not even Hispanic,But this is his time and I believe he will pull off the upset.
Either way...I give him props for stepping up to Floyd...the fact that Floyd is bigger, stronger, faster. Payday or not...his life/wellness is on the line. Money can't buy heart.
