Why does HBO baby a unknown fighter in Berto?

I think they might be trying to put up a slight stiff arm. He aint got a date or an opponent. I dont think he will fight on Showtime so he will have to comply eventually.

should definitely be fighting the mosley types, as well as another match with collazo.the only reason i would see the hate as justifiable is because of his belt.that's about it.for the most part i think he can be a future star. I think the fans want their champions to be champions.

I agree in the sense that the networks should stop babying him and put him in with a guy like Cintron or Quintana, someone the public wants to see him fight. He's had a pretty soft road as a champion so far and with the competitiveness of promoters looking for dates for their fighters, why put the division on hold?

He got a gift against an opponent Mosley man handled and dominated for 12 rounds with ease. An opponent he was supposed to show his skills against. 4. He couldn't put on a show against a much smaller Urango who is basically a punching bag. 5. He doesn't have a crowd pleasing style like a Paul Williams, and somehow is treated better by HBO. 6. Berto got talent, but I agree. Fukk him. I really wanted to see SSM fukk him up. I hope Collazo gets a rematch. Why is it that everybody is clamoring for that rematch? Collazo fought too passively in the last two rounds. I don't like Berto just like 99% of the other people who follow boxing do. But we need to get Berto in with someone that can punch. I think Angulo is better than Berto.

Berto loses to Mosley :lol1: When has an American lost to Mosley. He choose to fight Clottey instead of Berto Berto is haitian, he fought for them in the Olympics. Born there, and moved to the US while he was young. He is no more American than Joshua Clottey who has been living in America for a while.

Berto is quite good actually, I would bet on him against almost any welterweight if the numbers were right. I do not think Clottey,Mosley would have an easy time with Berto at all and those are close to 50/50 fights. I have always thought Cotto would have problems with Berto aswell considering his uppercut, but Cotto would have to be the favorite. The lower end guys I think he will beat, even with Collazo it is likely that he would have an easier go the second time around.

Not his biggest fan but would like to see him step up his level of competition now.

It seems like HBO thought he was gonna be the next big thing and gave him the RJJ/Mayweather treatment. Granted, RJJ and Mayweather put in WAY more work before they were allowed to fight lower level opp. on the network the way Berto has. HBO loves the faster fighters in the game, if Dirrell wouldn't have purposely stunk out the joint against Stevens, he'd be a staple too.

Berto weighs 170 on fight night. Urango came in at 150 for that fight. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL Urango yes he was 150 but Berto was 155. He doesn't get big.Only time he as 160 was with Collazo.He was 153,5 with Forbes for example.

Clottey has fought and lost in very close bouts to Margarito and Cotto. Berto has fought Collazo. What a shit post. All that needs to be said. His best wins are past prime Judah who hasn't had a quality win in years and a blown up Corrales. Collazo and Urango are better wins.

HBO has completely missed with most of the fighters they've pushed in recent years. And as soon as one of those fighters loses they dump them. It's been happening for years.

I totally agree. hes very easy to hit and makes annoying noises when he throws punches. against a good puncher who can box he would get destroyed. if collazo didnt tire he would have knocked him out
