ATG? No, not simply by winning the tournament. HOF? Really depends on who it is and in what fashion they win it. If Kessler or Taylor wins it, then there is a good chance they would've done enough in their careers to get into the HOF. The other four guys would need a couple more big names on their resumes I think. Agreed. Maybe AA could have an honourable mention regarding the HOF.

They'll make the HOF, ATG status not guaranteed. Most people here have no concept of what qualifies making the HOF. The resume required to do this alone is better than 2 or 3 handfuls of HOFers best wins.

No. They'd be a Top 10 P4Per. They'd get HOF status if they were to beat Bute, if he's still the IBF champ and undefeated, the WBO champ, and defend the lineal title a few times against the next wave of challengers at 168. Or, he could move up to 175 and run the show up there. Both of those scenarios work for me.

Winnin that tourney alone don't guarantee ATG or HOF status. Obviously, it's a gr8 accolade and a step in the right direction tho.
