MACHO was born 5/24/62.. won the nabf title on 5/21/82. That would make him 19 years of age! I was wrong!!
Actually that would make him 3 days short of 20.:fingersx: and no offense my friend, but the NABF title isn't the same thing as a world title. Just saying.
Damn, he was K.O'd twice. Looking at Boxrec, after his K.O to Santos Lopez, he won 3 in a row then disappeared.
He was a decent fighter, but like I said, he just couldn't get over that hump. I don't know if it was mental or what? Wish there was more stuff of him on youtube, he was fun to watch back in the day.
Lol, I think you could blame that one on Lou Duva. Hopson fought more like Zab than he did Pea.

Every up and coming black south paw boxer, do we gotta hear next Pernell Whitaker? Same was said to Zab Judah

Check it out if you get a sec. Just noticed that TheGreatA has a video of Hopson on youtube.
Yeah I'm watching his fight against Moises, so far I don't see that sort of speed, still watching.
Never seen him, was born in 89 and started watching boxing after the Tito/ DLH hype hit me. That fight was so dull it threw me off, didn't watch boxing for a while then came back, can't remember when. I do know that I became in love with the sport after Tito vs B-Hop. Freaking DLH vs Tito fight ruined it for me, could have seen so much more. I'll see what I could find on youtube.

Do you remember an ESPN fighter from the early to mid 90's called Eddie Hopson? He never made it over the hump, but what speed that kid had. On par with the fastest of all time in my opinion.

Meldrick Taylor had the fastest hands in boxing, fastest I ever seen.

No, he doesn't. Floyd is easily faster and Floyd doesn't slap.
1 RJJ
2 Floyd
3 - 100 Doesn't matter, since they can't match these guys
Meldrick Taylor, Camacho didn't slap either, Meldrick Taylor is easily faster then RJJ.
Floyd, its not even close. RJJ said Floyd is the closest to him regarding handspeed.
Lol, not even close? Have you ever seen Camacho at 130 and 135? Stupid, stupid comment.
Say what you want. Hector "MACHO" Camacho was a CHAMPION at the age of 17.. He was the second youngest WORLD CHAMPION EVER..UNDEFEATED FOR 11 YEARS.. An 8 time World Champion in 6 weight classes!!!
Camacho was 21 when he won his first world title. He was a helluva fighter though.
