August 30, 7:48 PMLA Boxing ExaminerRicardo Lois
Following a Thursday night victory at Golden Boy Promotion's Fight Night Club, Aber Mares joined Chavez and Lois to discuss Juan Manuel Lopez and Nonito Donaire.
The former Mexican Olympian and Southern California based fighter made it clear a bout with Filipino Nonito Donaire would be welcome.
Super Zab Judah had a surprise visit to The Boxing Truth Radio via his USTREAM page and as always, Super was not short on words or takes regarding the sport of boxing. Listen to his thoughts on possible fights with Andre Berto or Juan Diaz.
To round out a full slate of guests, Bridget Driscoll President of Mill City Studios talks about the upcoming documentary and television show Fighters: Road to the Golden Gloves which looks at the New England Golden Gloves tournament.

well abner beat Juan Manuel Lopez 3 times if you want to talk about world class
that certainly gives him world class PRO experience, put him in against Nonito now!..............:killyou:
I dunno about this one Frankie, its a boy against a man, so far they've been bringing him up the right way, big mistake to put him up against Donaire with no world class experience.

He could be just a hype. Let him fight some decent fighters before he challenge Nonito.
Abner has tons of potential and I feel time will show it. But I agree, Abner needs to prove himself..... And I know he will.
Well... realistically, We are not looking for that fight as of right now for Abner. We would like him to get a few more fights to work on some stuff that he needs to. And hopefully capture a title at 118lbs. As far as Nonito, I think that fight would be a good fight for Abner down the line. It won't be easy, but you have to take risk in boxing.
We will cross that bridge when we get there.
glad to hear....... Nonito is a fuking monster, 3 or 4 more fights against good opposition should do it.

It should be noted that Abner did not call anyone out. The person who was doing the interview mention Nonito. Abner was very respectful to Nonito and Lopez.
He said it would be a good fight and it had a good possibility that it could happen within a year.
you can listen to it here....

I agree.
Even though I think Donaire is ok. I think he's overrated. Other than Vic I don't see what's the big deal of him being in the P4P rankings. But then again P4P is shit right now.
Donaire just hasnt had much luck with fights because noone wants to fight him. He's like the Paul Williams of the lower weight divisions.
He made beating Darchinyan look easy. Darchinyan then went on to destroy fighters who were supposed to outbox him like Donaire did. Like Kirilov and Mijares. Even went up to 118 and still gave Agbeko all he could handle.
Just as Donaire moved up to 115....everyone that was at 115 moved up to 118 because that's how good Donaire is.
Concepcion had a 3-4 weight division advantage by fight night. Anyone with actual boxing sense and not blind nutthuggery knew we werent going to see the fight we expected soon as we heard Concepcion missed weight by 5lbs.
Yeah, but Concepcion isn't nearly as skilled as Mares so it evens out.Plus Mares is a natural bantamweight so he is probably bigger than most fighters(besides Concepcion)Donaire has faced.
Anyways, Mares would probably lose a decision right now, not because Donaire is better but because Mares is somewhat green. In about a year or after a couple fights with top ten opposition, Mares in my opinion would give him a good fight and possibly would beat him.
Never underestimate. Look what happened with Concepcion.

Damn, Mares hasn't even disrespect pinoys or Donaire and these fulls are already discrediting him.
Who's discrediting who??? We're just laying out the facts. Donaire has knockouts over Darchinyan and Maldonado. Mares doesnt have anyone on his resume that comes close to either as far as credibility goes. Mares was the 1 who called out Donaire. You and I and every other mexican and every other pinoy all equally wanna see this fight.
Mares looked good on his fight last week. I wasn't impressed with Donaire in his last fight, but after watching his interview on youtube about breaking his hand in the early rounds, I let it slide.
If this does go down, I got Donaire.
Don't think Mares is ready yet but I'd root for him
Donaire vs Montiel or Hasegawa would be a better fight
fukk that mares is ready. he looked like a million bucks. nonito might not be ready.

Donaire vs Montiel = Yes
Donaire vs Hasegawa = Hasegawa by murder. Donaire would need time to grow accustomed to the weight before facing Hasegawa at 118
YESSSS!!!!! Effin do it!!!!! Donaire by KO. Funny how people are talkin about Donaire being protected when Mares has faced shit competition his whole career. At least Donaire has KOs over Darchinyan and Maldonado.
Mares has Diosdado Gabi.lol
