isn't don king synonymous with being THE boxing promoter? When Golota is down and out, who was there? Don King. When Mayorga got his day with Vernon Forrest, Mayorga, the club brawler got the big fights and biggest purses. Who was there? Don King? Who else did I miss?
Don clearly knows how to make fights happen, that's all I'm saying. If Don was in charge of that guy who last beat Tyson, we'd probably still here from that fighter. Am I right?
I'm just wondering how some people make Don King seem like a villain. I haven't read his bio or anything too much about him. So feel free to summarize?
Don King has carisma and is a great promoter. no douabt about it.
HHowever in the frontline documentary and book by Jac Newfield the inside story is very different. the documentary is on youtube and it really tells you the whole story
don king is an ex-gangster from cleveland. he shot a man in the back for trying to rob one of King's gambling rackets and stomped another to death for allegedly stealing from him.
There you have it.
When his fighter Berbick was destroyed by Tyson where was he?With Tyson.
When Gerald McClellan(his fighter) was battling threw life and death in the ring corner after losing where was he?With Nigel Benn.
Etc,etc.
Pure scumbag.

"(King is) a wretched, slimy, reptilian mother--. This is supposed to be my 'black brother' right? He's just a bad man, a really bad man. He would kill his mother for a dollar. He's ruthless, he's deplorable, he doesn't know how to love anybody."
