Yong Mike had Shane mosely energy. He ran 5 miles every morning, whether he had a fight or not. No way a prime Mike gets tired in the ring. He would outwork Lennox for 12 if he didnt knock him out. Lennox chin was no where near Tysons chin. Tyson would beat lennox by descision of KO.
It is hard to say. Lewis in prime is also good, difficult to hit his chin if he took the match seriously
i think lewis is the better fighter and i think he would win a bout between them by late KO
tyson in his prime had great handspeed, quick feet and threw punches in bunches. he also had good head movement which would pose problems for lewis's jab and even if lewis did manage to land the right hand tyson could take it.
lewis himself didn't exactly have a bad chin, had an accurate and powerful jab, a great right hand and mentally he is the stronger of the two. tysons body punches might do some damage but for the mjaority of time i see lewis tieing him up on the inside.
heres how a fight would play out:
tyson would start well; bobbing 'n' weaving, landing clusters of punches. lewis tries to establish the jab but its inconsistent, at some point during the first 3 rounds tyson would land heavily on lewis (maybe with the right uppercut).
lewis though would take it and pull through, from then on in hed start to have success, mike never had great stamina, and would be discouraged that his best punches don't seem to be doing the job. as mike tires lewis's jab becomes more of a factor, and this sets up the right hand. by round 9 tyson would be a spent and by the 10th lewis would KO him.

if they only fought once, id (just) fancy prime tyson to take Lewis out early. Lewis occasionally started slowly, and could've been taken by surprise by the speed and movement of tyson. If tyson didnt have Lewis out of there by the end of the 4th he loses.I'd be 51-49 in favour of tyson if they fought once.
If they fought 5 times 4-1 to Lewis. Once Lewis figured out Mike, tyson wouldn't have a chance.
no he would not. Tyson coulnt even knock out james smith yet you think hes gonna knock out and murder an ATG like Lennox Lewis in a few rounds? its ****in ridiclous how much you americans exagerate all the time, yes he would be the favorite to win. but saying he would "murder" or knock out Lennox Lewis in 1 or 2 rounds is just ridicilous.
It's a suicide for Lewis if he fights a prime Tyson. :boxing:

if mccall and rahman, two guys who make nobody's list and don't hit half as hard as prime mike, if they can knock out lennox, then a prime tyson can do it in 2 or less...especially rooney trained tyson...
1. Mike Tyson in his prime
2. Lennox Lewis in his prime.
Who do you think is best? If they meet in their primes, who will win.
Let me start by saying Mike Tyson is my favorite Heavyweight of all time.
I voted for Lennox Lewis because I feel like his style can beat a more variety of heavyweights than Tyson's. There will never be another heavyweight with the speed and power that Tyson possessed but he was just not a tall fighter. Lennox could just stay away from him with his reach/jab.
At his prime (which was actually a lot shorter than many seem to think it was) I think Tyson would have beaten anybody in the 'modern' (ish) era, Lewis, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, the lot. Except a prime Ali, who was the only one capable of dancing around him.
People are acting like Tyson fought Lewis when he was past prime, as if Lennox Lewis was still in his prime and 20 years old all his life. You gotta remember that even in his best years, Lewis was older than Tyson. So the age excuse doesn't work. Lewis was even better in his 20 years than he was in his 30es.
Lewis has gone on record stating that he didn't feel he reached his prime until he was in his thirties.
rooney trained tyson ko's lewis in 8
rooney trained tyson had underrated defense and countered off of long, rangy boxer's jabs regularly...either with the hook to the body or upstairs...thats what i think made him the best heavy since ali
I like a prime mike tyson better.
Before the douglas fight (and his weakness was exposed) tyson was an absolute beast. He use to scare his opponents before ever stepping into the ring with them (or at least some of them anyway).
He just appeared as this undestructable animal that was going to beat the brakes off you.
good defense and speed and an uppercut that makes you cringe when you see it land.
This is no knock on lewis obviously...he's the last great heavyweight! And has tons of knowledge and skill. oh, and natural talent helps too ;)
There hasn't been a dominating Heavyweight since Tyson. Now is Lewis a better boxer than Tyson? I would say so, but being the better Boxer doesn't always make you the better fighter. People were literally afraid to fight Tyson as where Lewis was KO'd by 2 C class fighters.
I wonder sometimes how far Mike would've gone with the right team behind him. With Cus and even Rooney, he was a tamed killer.
Neither, both are overrated Hypejobs. Klitschkos brutalise them both.Prime Vitali (the more talented brother) fought an old and retiring Lewis and left the ring with his face looking like a truck had just hit it.
Lewis TKO 6 Klitschko, history doesn't lie.
He definitely did not want a rematch. He said wouldn't wanna get beaten up again and I think it was in the post fight press conference that he said he could never have beaten Lewis.
He said post fight he wanted a rematch and also after he beat Etienne.
He always wanted a rematch with Lewis.
