who's still mad the WBO WW title is on the line in the pac/cotto fight?

Which was why i was against this fight in the 1st place. i'm old school boxing fan...the devisions are seperate for a reason. but seeing as how it's happening anyway, after awhile i accepted it, and am hyped for it. I see it 50/50, but giving a slight edge to Cotto cuz Manny is stepping up to a natural. If you are then you should know that catch-weight is as old as boxing. Even Hank Armstrong had a catch-weight fight. Whenever two marketable fighters are close the each other's weight class but one or the other cannot make the weight properly, then they will always agree in the middle. And funny, it has been a tradition that the bigger guy will mostly have the advantage than the one moving up. Pac definitely started a new tradition. Moving up is so easy that a fighter of higher div is at disadvantage if he give one or two pound for the smaller guy.

I ain't complaining.... I'm just saying "I TOLD YOU SO" and "I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG"... that's why there aren't anymore threads complaining about the catchweight

IMO if Pac wins it just says that the WBO recognizes him as champion in weights from 141-145 That's what that diamond belt should reflect. 141-145.

I never gave a damn about the belt being on the line for this fight. But I'm going to call it how I see it. Cotto did not agree on his own to put the belt on the line. He got bullied and backed into a corner by the WBO on some straight Suge Night, Debo gangster sh!t. They straight up told Cotto he had to pay them the sanction fee's weather or not he defended the belt, or else he would be stripped and the belt would be on the line only for Manny. Then what else could Cotto do but use it as a negotiation tool. He did it because he had to, not because he planned to. That's not entirely true, actually that's not even remotely true. Arum agreed and offered to pay for both fighters sanction fees. Cotto could've easily pulled out of this fight or just simply thrash the belt, in which case it would be open and the winner would claim the belt.

yeah but if a fighter isn't aloud to make the fight at the welterweight limit (which is 147) it isn't a true welterweight fight... & it doesn't matter, to the majority of fans Pac won't be a welterweight champion because of his little b.s. clauses on the contract including the weight. Plus I think many underestimate Cotto because of the adversities he's been through in his last 3 fights, whereas Manny's fight have been much less controversial. Cotto is my fav boxer right now and Manny is My 2nd. I wish both luck and a good clean fight with no major inhibiting cuts that lasts a while so us fans can watch these 2 greats battle it out. Manny can bleed too, though I'm hoping niether get cut bad enough to hinder their performance.
