It looks as though as Paulie Malignaggi, who has gone from faceless fighter to AOL lead page cover boy, will cash in on his controversial decision loss to Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz.
But Malignaggi might be leaving HBO, which televised his unanimous decision loss in Diaz’s hometown of Houston Saturday night, to return to rival Showtime.
Conversations have begun between the parties to have the motor mouth from Brooklyn challenge WBO 140 pound champion and undefeated boxer Tim Bradley.
Bradley, handled by Big Gary Shaw, fights on Showtime. His most recent bout, a controversial stoppage of Nate Campbell, was changed from a Bradley victory to a no contest by the California commission.
Malignaggi man Lou DiBella spoke about a possible Malignaggi-Amir Khan title bout but, with Malignaggi having a not debatable loss to Ricky Hatton, there was zero interest from Khan promoter Frank Warren.
The Khan seeks bigger game than the head of Malignaggi.
Malignaggi used to be known for his crazy hairstyles. Now he’s known for predicting he’ll get lousy judging in a fight and then reminding everyone he called it in advance.
More paydays, this and more, loom for Popgun Paulie.
All those hours Malignaggi logs on Facebook and Twitter are paying off.
I just don't think Gale Van Hoy will be given a notepad and pencil for this one.
bradley and paulie would be a good fight.., i wouldnt complain.. but i would rather see him go againts Kahn.. i think it would be a better fight for him.. i agree.. bradley would beat paulie unfortunately, cause i like paulie..
Bradley has a mandatory with Lamont Peterson next.
That's an interesting fight. I wouldn't know who to pick.

Paulie M is still a good name to have on anyone's resume at 140 but he doesnt have the hands to hold off people that charge at him because of his hand injuries..
i'd rather see bradley v. campbell II first. cuz campbell deserves a rematch.
Paulie should look for another title in the meantime. maybe get it from urango? it would help him with his selling point of getting the level of meaningful fights he wants...as in against the bigger name competition.
I would like to see Malignaggi vs Urango, get that title back.
I'd like to see that, too.
As much as I don't mind Urango (I actually think he's pretty cool, for some reason), he's the easiest guy at 140 for anyone to beat right now - Bradley, Khan, Malignaggi, Maidana, Alexander, Ortiz, Holt, Hatton, Kotelnik or even Diaz could all take him in a UD. He just doesn't do enough in the ring, despite having wicked power.
With that said, I liked him in his fight against Ngoudjo. That was a good bangfest to start the year.
Paul deserves some consolation. If not a rematch, maybe a shot at a belt. A fight wit him and Bradley sounds good, but a loss is a loss, however dubious. I doubt he gets an immediate shot at him. Maybe Khan.
bradley by ud...I like baby bull, but he's one dimensional...but his aggressive pressure attack did give Paulie some trouble early in the fight...to me Paulie survived (and won) because of his speed solely. Unless he has more in his arsenal, i don't see his formula working on Bradley.
Paulie can't hold Bradley's jock. Bradley is a boxer puncher with 10 times more versatility and even power than Paulie. You can't just left jab Bradley to death, he's not one dimensional like Ndou, Ngoudjo, or Diaz. Plus Paulie's never faced someone with comparable speed, which Bradley has. Bradley, wide UD.
If you read my post I said if he mixed up his punches more. I am not sayign he is going to win the fight. I am saying he has the ability too. Many people have the tools or the skill to win but few do. Ask your self why and read the post a few times before you assume I would pick Paulie over Bradley in the fight. ia m simply saying he has the tools son. His jab is NOT enough I do not think a JAB should ever be enough to win a fight. It is merely a tool or a weapon in an arsonal not the entire arsonal. I had Diaz in that fight 115-113. To me throwing over around 700 jabs is NOT a way to win if you dont throw some power shots too....Lefty
RIP Paulie. Take that money and open a restaurant in brooklyn.
Why should he open a restaurant? I don't get the RIP thing and take the money and open a eatery. Are you trying to say all Italians own restaurants and are in the mafia?....Lefty
It should be because Malinaggi has skills hes a good boxer he only lost twice IMO to Cotto(A Great Fighter)and Ricky Hatton(A great Fighter)I admit he didn't look good against hatton but the truth is he beat Juan Diaz so he deserves his title shot.
i wouldnt mind seeing this fight.. give paulie a tittle shot.. he deserves it after that bullshit that happened againts Diaz.. i think he has a chance to beat bradley.. even though bradley is damn good... but hopefully its not in Bradley's backyard..
I think Paulie can outbox Bradley but it should be a good fight. If Paule uses his right hand and mixes up his punches more he could ge a decision and line himself up for another big fight....Lefty
