Bowe and Lewis agreed to fight eacho other in March 1995. So i really wonder why people are calling Bowe chicken when he after all agreed to fight him. It wasnt Bowes fault that Lewis lost hes title against McCall in the end of 94. Very true. The fight was in the table a few times and Lewis spoiled it at least twice.

Bowe was in top of the World, while Lewis was known little in the US then, plus He was the Challenger. Lewis should of fought Bowe and take the 25% Bowe would of beaten him at that time and Lewis looked like He knew that.

I know one thing , if that fight would have happened in 1993 it would have been fireworks. Bowe was looking like a monster along with Lewis. I still think Lewis would have taken it though. Lewis always could rise to the occasion when motivated. Bowe though was also peaking around that time so I would not rule him out at all.

I said 75/25 split is ridiculous when he beat him in the Olympics and is guaranteed a title shot when Bowe does duck his obligation to fight him, and it proves Bowe low balled Lewis because he had not intention of fighting him. 75/25 is standard for champ to challenger.

I can't believe the subject won't die. Lewis turned down more money than he had ever made in his career to fight Bowe. Bowe made a crazy amount of more money to fight Holyfield again. What doesn't make sense to the Lewis faction on here?

Why does this guy keep bringing up what happened in the amateurs as a bargaining chip for professional fights, it has nothing to do with negotiations in a pro fight. Who cares if he beat Bowe in the amateurs, 75/25 was a good offer by all standards. Indeed. It's strange. Borderline neurotic. Him suggesting that Lewis fled Canada because he feared Berbick is the most appauling unverified claim I've heard in a very long time.

Pacquiao v Cotto is a far bigger fight than what Bowe v Lewis was back in 93 But it didn't go to any purseoffer did it? If Pac was to challenge Cotto in a real WW championship fight and he during voluntary negotiations was offered 75/25 do you then think he'd take it knowing that the governing body at a purseoffer would enforce a 60/40 split?

Plain n simple, Bowe didn't want it. LL got in that ass BITD at the Olympics and he didn't wanna fight him again. Too bad cuz that fight woulda been fire circa 1993.
