I'd say Mexico, here's why. Mexican fighters in general gets so much t.v exposure yet, most of 'em are sh*t!!
Now, don't get me wrong every country has their list of hypejobs. But it's easier for a Mexican fighter to get that exposure than other boxers from foreign countries.
Lets take the Filipino fighters for example, now, if it wasn't for PAC, they would not have even gotten the exposure that they have gotten, hypejob or not! I mean, I find it sad that a fighter of Gerry Penalosa's caliber only started getting the U.S. exposure due to PAC's popularity, when in fact, Gerry has been a world-class @ss kicker and use to hand PAC his @ss in sparring sessions!
Here's an example, Angulo, that guy, if he wasn't a Mexi****. What is so special about him that he gets t.v. spots. Promoters and a certain cable channel is so hungry for that me*ican star that they're forcing these garbage @ss wanna-be mexican warriors down our throats!
F**k Vicky Ortiz and Juanita Diaz, gimme Nonito and Viloria all day!
Get the **** out of here with that never ending t.v exposure excuse.Mexico has consistently proven that it is up there as one of the boxing superpowers of the world.Can't really say that about the Phillipines can we?
Let's see you had Bautista as the next "Pac", he got ktfo by the worst Mexican champ ever.You had Z Gorres the best "technical" fighter you guys had, got beat by Montiel in his own hometown.You had Mayol the next "Ricardo Lopez" got ktfo by the Mexican softie Solis.You had Florante Condes the "Pac of the lower divisions" got schooled by guess what, a Mexican uknown Garcia.You had Viloria the next pinoy "golden boy" and guess what he got outboxed by a mediocre Mexican unknown Nino.Even your so called "world class @ss kicker" Penalosa got outboxed by the worst Mexican champ ever.A.J Banal your other "next pac" got ktfo by a bum who got koed by over the hill past his prime, punching bag Arce.And recently your next hero Concepcion got totally embarrassed by a real boxer Steven Luevano.He was so thoroughly outboxed he had to resort to cheating.
So who are the real hypejobs?
Angulo is deserving of the hype he has received.He has a good record and has faced and defeated good opposition for only having 16 fights.So he lost to a former champ that is still in his prime and has great power and decent boxing skills.He made it close and I believe he would beat him in the rematch.Ortiz can still bounce back.If Khan is a champ after being ktfo by a bum a year ago, why can't Ortiz?
my argument is;
if david haye fought one of the klitscko brothers or if amir khan fought manny pacquiao or carl froch fought bernard hopkins....
it would be overshadowed by a big cycling, rowing, now darts & snooker event?Yes they would totally, Fcuk barely anyone in the country even knows who Froch and Haye is, yet using your example.
Cyclist Mark Cavendish is hugely famous both for multiple gold medals and 6 stage wins in the tour de France this Year.
The olympic gold medalist Rowers Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pincent are both Knights of the realm, something no boxer is ever going to be and are amoungst the most recognised sportsmen in the country.
Darts major finals (desert classic, the lakeside event and world championships etc)attract a larger live following than Ricky Hatton every night for 2 week solid, the live TV audience is also over 3 million worldwide.
Snooker is among the most popular television sports. Viewing figures for the World Championship final in May between Shaun Murphy and Matthew Stevens peaked at 7.8 million.
was Lennox Lewis also a hype job right? name me all these hypejobs britain produce, amir khan and ricky hatton(maybe). who else? who else has actually been hyped? yall dont know the defenition of the word hype jobs.
jeff lacy and victor ortiz those are hypejobs but none of yall mentioning them. over the history usa has produced more hypejobs than britain.
where Jimmy Wilde, Bob Fitzsimmons, Ken Buchanan hype jobs? its ****in ridiclous how much americans hate britain, all they produce are hype jobs give me a break.
Lewis was no hypejob and the other 3 guys you mentioned, but that is all you got. USA has without a doubt produced the highest # of all time greats ever. England has 4 guys over the entire history. WOW
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
dont forget about snooker, rowing, & cycling. which i still dont believe.
snooker and darts are more watched and its not even close.
rowing and cycling - only around olympics
Darts being more popular than boxing in England is all I really need to know about that country.
what that we love pub sports, sports u can play stoned (snooker) and drunk (darts) and require 0 fitness?
actually that is all u need to know.
I'd say the answer is England.
Prince Naseem, Ricky Hatton, Audley Harrison, Danny Williams, Amir Khan (not sure about this one yet), the list goes on and on.
danny williams is the GOAT, u cant call the GOAT a hype job.
I'd say the answer is England.
Prince Naseem, Ricky Hatton, Audley Harrison, Danny Williams, Amir Khan (not sure about this one yet), the list goes on and on.
the reason why britain seems like they have more hypejobs is because of jelous yanks highlighting every loss of a british fighter and instantly calling them overrated hypejobs:nonono:
thanks for the red K saying "phillipines have small dicks"
dont worry, ill play the karma game with you :lol1:
what the ****? go check it again and you'll see that i havent given you any red k. idiot.
i misquoted. but since you called me an idiot, expect some drive by :haha:
Did you really just say that? Or is it sarcasm?
You're a Haye fan, and you shit on Khan?
Khan has more skills than Haye. Also quit quoting me all the time. Ffs your startign to freak me out.
my argument is;
if david haye fought one of the klitscko brothers or if amir khan fought manny pacquiao or carl froch fought bernard hopkins....
it would be overshadowed by a big cycling, rowing, now darts & snooker event?
Honestly, I get Sky Sports News here in the states and the only time I've ever seen them doing anything on boxing or mentioning it, was when Hatton had a fight. Other than that, it is just on the bottom of the screen scrolling by.
Almost the entire segment is dedicated to the EPL/the football league, rugby, cricket, F1, then darts, and finally snooker.
When you think about, Froch is in arguably the biggest boxing even of the year, and no one has signed on to broadcast his fights yet....
my argument is;
if david haye fought one of the klitscko brothers or if amir khan fought manny pacquiao or carl froch fought bernard hopkins....
it would be overshadowed by a big cycling, rowing, now darts & snooker event?
haye v the klits would be on sky box office, so they would plug the shit out of it. adds everywhere. And the final of the world snooker would still get more viewers. (free tv)
there is as close to 0 talk in sports tv stations and papers about the SMW tourny as u can get. Froch v hopkins does about 20% of haye v a klit. froch is unknown still. the name might be slightly familiar, but few randoms on the street could put a name to a face.
when did u ever see me make the argument that baseball, basketball, & american football are being watched by the whole of UK?
i didnt, was saying that u didnt hear an argument saying we thought boxing was more popular in the states than those sports. went onto a bit of a tangent saying i thought they were boring.
was making a point that u have your own sports that are more popular than boxing, and we have ours. we accept basketball etc are more popular, and u cant accept that darts and snooker are here.
Amir Khan is the biggest hype job over in UK
I dont think people understand the meaning of a hype-job? Its when none boxing fans only know a few fighters such as Ali, Tyson and then they'll mention Khan because hes hyped as he is the P4P #1. Some people actually go around saying Khan is the best fighter in the world...
Over here in america I think Jeff lacy has to be the biggest hype job EVER
