Arum, on the other hand, assured me it would all be worked out this week, though it's pretty clear Arum himself isn't pleased with Pavlik.
He and Dunkin both said Pavlik missed at least three doctor's appointments and that the fighter didn't finally see a physician until just hours before he was supposed to leave for New York. Why would a world champion with a multimillion-dollar fight in front of him miss three appointments to have his hand checked? Remember, Pavlik makes his multimillion-dollar living with his hands.
It seems like very odd behavior and, quite frankly, highly unprofessional. - Dan Rafael
He doesn't want it, Hopkins really did ruin him. Bend your knees mothafucker
pavlik needs to pull a reverse-calzaghe. he started off fighting good opponents but now he needs to fight tomato cans. is tocker pudwill still around?
aye...but he is a judge now I believe.
I'm off the bandwagon. Marley was right, he should move his training camp to Big Bear or somewhere else if he's serious about being a prizefighter. He's a big fish in a small pond in Youngstown.
Funny how people are happy saying BHop took the soul of boxers 10+ below him. Why didn't he take the soul of great boxers his size??
He took Calzaghe's soul in my view even though he lost the fight by a close margin. Why do you think Calzaghe went on to fight Roy Jones instead of a fresher fighter that wasn't in the nursing home. And what did Taylor do that was meaningful after Hopkins was robbed against him twice?
You mean his twin brother, Gary Lockett? Done already. :p
(Seriously, those 2 have to be related somehow.)
well they are both all time greats. i can see the relation there.
I think this is the same case as Hatton. Undefeated feeling untouchable then 1 fighter comes along and not just beats them but destroys them. That would have to take a toll on anyone. Its too bad I was a real big fan of both, dont get me wrong I still am but who knows what the future holds. It doesnt matter how physically good you are if you are mentally strong in boxing your going to go down.
yea..i just made a thread a day or two ago saying i have a feeling pavlik will retire...im just waiting to see an article headlined "kelly pavlik hangs them up"..he just seems like he doesnt have his shit together at all as professional boxer..or for that matter even his personal life from the stuff we have been hearing lately
