Wladimir was never KOed in the amateurs, although he lost a couple of fights at age 18-19 to older fighters.
Chagaev, who was schooled and stopped by Wladimir this year, defeated Savon when he was exactly the same age as Tua was when Savon KOed him.
Yet you give no credit to Chagaev or Wladimir, and make excuses for the guy who was KOed. :wtf:
Vasyl Lomachenko, who won the award for the most outstanding boxer in the 2008 Olympics, was close to the same age as Tua was when Savon KOed him.
wlads hard jab wouldnt let tua inside. and he would pepper tua all night with that right if not stop him.:boxing:
Wrong! :nono:
Tua was born in 1972, so he was age 19 when he was KOed by Felix Savon in 1991.
Ruslan Chagaev, born on Oct 19, 1978, was the same age to a month when he defeated Savon in the finals of the 1997 world amateurs.
Savon went on to win Gold at the 2000 Olympics three years later.
ok, I was wrong.
but Tua was still a teenager, and was probably only 18 since he was born in November, unless that matchup happened in December of 91.
so I still dont really think its fair to count that KO against him. Im sure Wladimir was beaten by guys in the amateurs too, probably guys worse than Selix Savon.
What you read on boxrec doesn't tell the story. KO'ing the likes of Rahman and Ruiz does not make you an elite fighter. Hanging around the top 10 for 8 years only tells you that he was a good fighter who never made it to the top.
Tua could ONLY fight if a guy stood in front of him. That is fact.
love the points you make bro. one of the few cats on here who actually know boxing
prime tua didn't weigh 255 lbs.
but prime tua when he fought lewis fought like a bitch is what im saying. so he's older now and he's skills are very limited. ala jeff lacy. he gets his socks boxed off by wlad all day. first and foremost he has to deal with shane cameron
A prime tua? A prime tua got worked and fought like a bitch against lewis!!! Im so disappointed in tua for that. I thought he was the next tyson. Wow i was wrong. Hahha wlad mops the floor with him
I'd say I'd pick Klitschko by decision.
No way that monotonous jab, jab, jab style stops Tua or makes him quit but David wouldnt touch Klitschko IMO.
But it only takes 1 punch to win by KO for Tua.
top 10 for 8 straight years.
3 ko wins over guys who later won a world title.
not bad for a guy that never had a prime.
its a shame guys like ruiz get like 10 title shots, but an actuall GOOD fighter lik tua only got 1
Wladimir Klitschko would KO David Tua, just like Felix Savon did in the 1991 World Amateurs:
he was 16 years old. I think any 16 year old ever would get knocked out by one of the best heavyweight amateurs of all time.
so thats hardly relevant.
And stopping the fight for a TKO on cuts, doesn't change the fact that Lewis was getting his @ss beat.
ah, this discussion again? how many times can it be done?
anywys, I thoguht Lewis had a pretty solid final round of that fight, landed a monster uppercut along with that short right hand at the end of the round that made Vitali look a little shaky.
plus Lewis had started to regularly land the uppercut when they clinched, so...
I dunno, I think if the fight continued he would have the upper hand.
Chris Byrd schooled Prime Tua
Wlad destroyed Byrd twice
Wlad/Tua would be a replay of Lewis/Tua
Wlad by dominant UD
nah, Lewis was doing stuff in that fight that Wlad never(or very sparringly) does...like uppercuts and right hands to the body.
still, I think its fairly clear that Wlad has the ability to outbox him to a decision.
although admittedly its possible that Wlad is in some shaky moments/gets knocked out late in the fight.
Tua's power was odd. he would either get you really early, or he would send you to sleepy time in the championship rounds like he did with Rahman, Izon and Maskaev.
I remember no mid round KOs from him
it doesn't matter if vitali was up 11-0 in the 12th round.
if they stop the fight with 1 second left in round 12 , it's a TKO loss.
And stopping the fight for a TKO on cuts, doesn't change the fact that Lewis was getting his @ss beat.
bitch , i've seen EVERY tua fight. stfu.
wlad beats a shot rahman 10 years later and it's a good win to you klitorises. :lol1:
See, now you're making an ass out of yourself assuming that i'm a Klits fan.
If you've seen every Tua fight and still don't realize how limited he was, then you don't know boxing, period.

This is what will happen to Wladimir Klitschko if he fought a prime Tua.
