What Does a Cotto Win over Manny Pacquiao Mean?
Does it mean:
1.That Manny Pacquiao was the world's top junior welter but we found out against COTTO that he was no better than top ten at 147?
2.That he beat a fighter that didnt belong at Welterweight?
3. That Cotto should have fought Berto, Mosley, or Williams instead of picking on Jr. WW's?
4. If Cotto wanted to fight within the Welterweight limit than he should have fought a WELTERWEIGHT! and if he wanted to fight Pacman the fight should been at 140, a weight thats his Pacquiao weightclass.
5. That it was a great win reguardless

where's the last option?
6. You're a repetitive bore.
That would certainly be the most popular choice in the poll.
It's a great win...Cotto has fought other opposition that is either equal or bigger WWs.
Why not celebrate!
If your point is to expose the hypocracy of posters who bash PBF because of his selection of opposition...I think it's (hypocracy) is warranted lol Cotto has faced better quality opponents (recently).
I'm sure Cotto will continue to fight WWs and maybe one day fight someone in 154. Who knows...but for now...why not fight a smaller guy lol.
And I say this not as a "rib" or "dis" to PBF, but a mere (respectful) observation.
Cotto got business to handle wit SSM and Clottey in rematches. This is just a $ fight Arum's greedy ass put together to keep Cotto from defectin to GBP.
I agree. to me a cotto win just means floyd and arum need to make that fight happen in 2010. I don't think its a great win unless you really feel manny is the best fighter in the world and don't think he is so its a pretty good win to me and enough to put him in the running for foty.
because pacquiao is not a real welterweight remember?:twak:
Who cares if he's not, what's important is pac had taken on fights people thought he can't win and he won. So if Cotto wins fair and square, then i say he beat a great boxer and that's enough for me.
Depending how good Pac does...will decide how good a win it is for miguel...we all know pac is rightly so the P4P number 1...
We know he can hit hard and might be hitting even harder at WW....All depends on the night
Ill guess tho..it wil be a very good win for miguel....hes a top fighter and a warrior....only takes on the best, we need more people like them in the sport
Depends on the way Cotto would win. If he wins by being too strong and Pac's punches being ineffective, Cotto was too big. If he wins through his boxing skill, he gets full credit. If it's a mix of boxing skill and size, nice win but Pac should be at 140.
what?
How does this make sense?
So if Cotto is too dominate he doesnt get full credit?
But if he lets pac be competitive he gets full credit?

Cotto didn't choose Manny. Manny chose him. This is another name on Pac's resume before he fights Mayweather.
so when does it matter if an opponent calls you out or not...?
I agree that Cotto should beat him because he's bigger than Pac, but Pac is favored and everyone in the media is not giving Cotto much of a shot. If he beats Pac, everyone in the public will think it's a great win. I know size matters. The casual boxing fan doesn't.
yep because they are sheeple and don't know boxing. boxing fans should be more nuanced.
What does it mean For Cotto to force Pacquiao to move up to Welterweight just to fight him...?
Why didnt Cotto move down to 140 if he wanted to fight Pacquiao?
Why is he forcing Pacquiao to moved up to welterweight...when Pacquiao weightclass is 140?
What does that win mean for has legacy...
Should he just have fought berto or williams?
And there it is...
Cotto did not express a particular desire to fight Pacquiao. That's Arum's brainchild (whose name, incidentally, is just one letter off from the Latin 'aurum'...) because the man's avarice is legendary. It is a shit match because Cotto gives up everything. Even if he wins (an expectation of mine, but not a guarantee) Cotto will not likely be afforded the accolades and respect that goes along with a normal victory. It's a bullshit match.
It's a better win for Pacquiao if he beats Cotto than vice versa. Cotto is the bigger man and will only be giving up 1lb since his last weigh-in. On paper at least, Cotto is supposed to win this, so regardless of Manny being P4P #1 he's had very few fights above 140lbs and is therefore still relatively unproven. He weighed in at 142 for a Welterweight fight against De La Hoya, and only 139 against Hatton.
Now who is taking the bigger risk = Cotto losing 1 extra pound or Pacquiao taking on one of the best in the Welterweight division who enters the ring ~160? It should be quite clear to all that Pacquiao is taking the bigger risk, which translates to a better win, if he he pulls it off.
A Cotto win over Pacquiao is good, not great, and certainly not mediocre. The poll doesn't offer any choice for the way I wanted to vote, so I didn't bother. Pz.

:lol1: You are the biggest wanker Horus. You can't say this shite about Cotto because he's spent the last many years fighting each and every best WW and each greatest threat to him. **** off you pansy little wanker.
