Whoever is the best MMA fighter is the best fighter in the world (GSP) but the vast majority can fight better than the average man but they aint shit. Chuck Liddel is nothing but a bum boxer yet he was considered to be the 'best'. He aint got no guard, throws sloppy punches and is maaaaad slow. All them niccas slow and they got those small ass gloves. Shit don't make no sense. Boxers are the best fighters cus to compete you gotta know exactly how to fight.

Boxing is part of MMA. That's like saying it takes more skill to play quarterback than to play football... which makes no sense. One can argue it takes more skill to become a proficient boxer than it does to become a proficient BJJ practioner, Kick Boxer, Muay Thai fighter, and so on.... but to compare MMA to boxing is idiotic.

if my life was on the line I had my pick of the greatest boxer vs the greatest MMA fighter to help me out i'll take the guy who has more experience in more than one form of self defence. oh in a streetfight? I gotta agree with you there. In an MMA vs boxing argument I'm always the first to concede that boxing isn't exactly fighting.

And you need to learn how to ****ing read since that has nothing to do with what I said. actually it does. You said that a man who knows how to do many things is better than a man who only knows how to punch. My original post was that the boxer is more skilled. My point is mma fighters being more versatile doesn't mean they are more skilled than boxers who have honed their craft.

Different styles, different sport... I don't even like MMA but in a MMA fight the MMA fighter will win and in a Boxing match the Boxer will win...

You're a frickin moron if you think a man who can only punch is better than a man who can do many things. and you're a frickin moron if you think MMA isn't just another form of fighting. MMA fighters aren't boxing + BJJ + wrestling + etc. MMA itself is a combined form of fighting in and of itself, which doesn't mean they are masters of anything.

Boxing isn't the same as fighting. That said, I think boxing requires more skill than mma. You can't be an elementary school teacher that just decides to take up boxing at 28 years old and become champion. Yet its happened in MMA. Boxers start training before they even grow pubes.
