First off he practically killed Benn in the first round and most refs would have stopped teh fight. Not too mention the ref was a complete and utter disgrace to the sport and was practically protecting Benn. If it were a different ref and wouldn't have pushed the G-Man off continously, Been may have never seen the 2nd round.
Here is the first round in case anyone forgot how badly benn was getting his ass kicked:
Second, I think there may have been some damage to the G-Man going into that fight. In addition there was a lot of rabbit punching by Benn. Basically McClellan lost that fight due to unfortunate health reasons (and probably the refs incompetence/curruption), not because benn was better
These fools do not relize that gerald was coming into the fight with a condition of multiple migranes, and that his brain started bleeding in the second round of the Benn fight, and he still managed to put Benn down in the 8th round?
G-man by brutal 2nd round KO. What a lot of you forget is that McClellan had one of the best chins of his day. He was NEVER really hurt from a punch until he had a blood clot in his brain, and then he fought for about 6 rounds with a brain bleed. If you are going to get in a turtle shell, Gerald would split it in two and put your lights out. 2nd round KO.
G-Man would brutalize AA. AA is lucky to be fighting in a weak division, he would never stand up to very good MW's like Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, or the G-Man. Yes AA has a good chin and is tough, but more G-Man would most likely knock out Abraham.
The Key in this fight would have been the hand speed and activity which clearly favours the G-Man...though, he got sloppy at times but only lost and got frustrated vs stick'n'movers (except for Benn)...I see McClellan winning a clear cut decision, about 8-4 rounds...
McClellan would crack him.
G-Man by KO
Great breakdown guys.
Lets not get carried away. We all know what happened when McClellan met Nigel Benn, fighter with the same height and build and fighting style as Abraham. Ok, I won't say that Abraham is Nigel Benn, but he would have a much better chance than you think. McClellan's big problem was that he was not a very good defensive fighter. And it showed in the Benn fight.
Yeah but that was at SMW and many(including myself) belive McClellan entered the fight having already been traumatized.
Since his tragedy, McClellan has been way overrated. AA has too much boxing skill and plenty of strength to deal with him.
Personally I think McClellan used his jab and the ring good.In terms of skills I'd definetely give it to him si him winning by decision is not completely out of the question.
McClellan was a beast in the offensive department, but his defense wasn't very good. AA can win against anyone in MW/SMW by KO and he's underrated in regard to this comparison by most of the people who gave their vote. It's a pick'em fight for me, but I would root for AA, because his punching power is devastating (he's the second coming of Benn related to punching power) and his defense is effective.
yeah man alot of people seem to be underrating AA, he is one strong mofo maybe the strongest guy p4p in boxing right now. armenians just seem to have that natural strength, anyone remeber naz he was armenian i think and he was one of the strongest guys around for his time. very rarely shaken by a punch and could bang like very few in the division.
id still favour mclellan simply because he has a slightly better chin and slightly better power. we know that he took shots from jackson and continued, mclellans power was also devastating. he had a right hand that has to be one of the best ever and had more speed in his punches.
that would be one of the biggest factors io, AA throws loopy punches and hooks, g-man would counter with harder, quicker shots down the middle. i think g-man would take it (maybe by the dec.) but it wouldn't be as easy as somepeople think.

It's possible. Right now I'd say Abraham has a better chin than Benn and Benn was easier to hit than Abraham. Benn was more active though.

Nah that performance was something else from Benn that night
it was a one off for one night only..It was his glory night only to be overlooked by the dreaded ending...
the g-man will KO the king within 5 rounds
McClellan is one of the most devasting bodypunchers of all time as well. Abraham would have his hands high exposing his liver to a demonic body punch.
G-man had too much power and was way too aggressive for a style like that of Abraham. Abraham would do that winky type defense and g-man would break his arms in two.
I don't think it would make it to the 2nd round. First round KTFO, G-Man.
While I agree that I'd favor McClellan there is no way in hell he would stop Abraham in the first.
I'd say a mid round KO after continuous punching on the blockin up armenian.
McClellan would probably box a few rounds too.
