well, I'm officially off the Haye bandwagon. I still think he's an awesome fighter, but I just can't be a fan of a fighter that does shit like this. he has no honor.
really? kind of came out of the blue. i guess they don't fancy going straight into a Vitali fight
I think it's a very smart move. It won't waste anyone's time, and it might even be a pretty good fight. Now Haye can prove himself worthy of a Klitschko fight.
I don't think Haye is necessarily "scared" of the Klitschkos but I don't think he believes he can beat them. Clearly he sees Valuev as an easy win (which he is) and a way to hype the fight against one of the Klitschkos up even more to maximise his revenue.
makes sense I think he thinks he cant beat them also....maybe not afraid.
Being completely honest, it's a good move for Haye. Call him a bitch all you want, (Believe me, I want Vitali to KO his ass too) but the fact is he is a cruiser moving up to HW and needs to really establish himself before going up against a guy like Vitali or Wladimir. This isn't "The Great White Hype" where the first pro fight is against the champ
I agree with Reed. It's a smart move and good fight.
Get some more HW experience under your belt, some bargaining power, and what better than against an even taller bigger HW to get used to guys that size in a championship fight, whom isn't as good or dangerous.
Brilliant fight when you think about it. The Klit's haven't fetched the belt, Holyfield got robbed so lets get it on. Hayes young, should be in no rush, and can bargain a fair fight with Wlad, then a one off bout with Vitali which he'd probably lose. But it's the best possible road for him imo.
oh finally someone with brain!
I cant wait for the fight! Klitschkos always put haye low but now they look like fools! they know haye will end up with the wba belt and then say havent to say more than haye himself!
still don't believe it but i hope it's true.I am really glad if this is happening because they can finally get the title out of his hands and let the real heavys fight over it, after haye ko's this giant...

Haye vs Valuev is a competitive fight. I would rather see Haye try to knock him out vs Vitali or Wladimir try to jab Valuev to death. So Vitali to fight Arreola and Wladimir to fight Chambers sounds right if not Potvekin.

Meh, it's obvious what he's doing now. Stalling until Vitali is ANCIENT. He's still way past his prime and would beat down nearly every HW out there.
Smart move for Haye, but he did duck the Klits.
its actually a smart move with haye... it was getting screwed in the contracts with either klitschko... this way if he beats valuev... he brings a belt to the table and some of his own bargaining power... and he will actually make a lot more money this way... if the klits will be his biggest fight... then you want some bargaining power with the contracts
heres the link and the story:
Haye strikes deal to fight Valuev Nov. 7
Former cruiserweight champion David Haye will get a heavyweight title shot but it won't come against Vitali Klitschko, as has been in the works.
Instead, the former cruiserweight champion will challenge heavyweight titlist Nikolai Valuev on Nov. 7 in Germany after snubbing the deal to fight Klitschko, Haye's trainer and manager Adam Booth told ESPN.com on Wednesday.
The revelation was the end of a curious day. Klitschko manager Bernd Boente and adviser Shelly Finkel couldn't reach Booth to finalize a deal they thought they had agreed to for Klitschko-Haye to meet Sept. 12 at the 55,000-seat Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany. The fight would have had live television coverage on HBO in the United States.

But I don't understand why Haye would back out of a deal where he is forced to fight Wladimir after Vitali...
Because wasn't he saying from day one how he wanted to KO both brothers back to back...? And didn't his famous t-shirt depict this...?
Be careful what you wish for. It seems they gave it to him.
