Roach says Pac is only going to fight a couple more times then retire.
But, if he keeps taking guys out without them barely landing a shot on him then why not keep going? it's easy money, and big money at that.
I don't understand why he would quit.
Manny reportedly loss P140 million pesos from the last election. If he didn't learn his lesson from that, he'll go broke quite easily. Now granted that's only $3 million in dollars, but that's more than enough. I don't blame for wanting to help his/our people, but being a politician in the Philippines is not the best way to do it. It's too corrupted and he might end up being corrupted as well.
Pac's confirmed he's running for congressman.
Let him run. If he wins, he can't stand the leeches in congress. And sooner than expected, he'll be back in the ring.
If he loses, so much better so he can vent his ire on his opponent. Hell it could even be Klitschko!
You're just to hung up on what Pac did to Hatton to believe anyone can beat Pac. Hatton is nowhere near the fighter Cotto is and Cotto would have probablydestroyed Hatton even worse than Pac did if given the chance.
I was actually thinking more of what he did to ODLH.
People will come with the weight-drained stuff til the cows come home, but it doesn't affect speed and Oscar just couldn't land. I don't see it being much different with Cotto.
Too small, too quick, too elusive.
I'll believe it when I see it. He's unbelievably quick and the bigger the fighter, the slower they are against him.

arum needs to buy chavez jr. a 154 belt.
pac wants a 154 belt , junior! :lol1:
I bet Arum is already looking for Kotelnik of the LMW Division so that after JCC Jr is given a belt then he can push for Pacquiao vs Chavez Jr straight after Pac vs Cotto so that he doesn't have to deal with Mayweather/Hayman. I'm betting on Cotto ruining everyones plans in November. Then that will show Pac isn't a WW and if Mayweather or Mosley still want him them they'll have to go down to 140, although he'll prob want them to come down to 137.5.
Pacquiao has zero experience in politics. He's only given a chance because of his superstar status. A man with a third grade education should not be considered as a candidate for presidency of a nation that is nearly 100 million in population.
Philippine politics will inevitably tarnish his reputation. Corruption scandals abound in political arenas in the Philippines, and if Pacquiao presses forth with his political aspirations, he will likely become involved in some sort of scandal that will ruin his clean image.
Are you retarded or what? Whats make you think he's not capable of doing whats good for his people? Looking down on people who have lower education than you doesn't make you better than him, earning higher than him or greater than him. For your information, You just a lowly maggot if you compare yourself to him.
I hate people using his education and think he is superior than the other. Idiot!
There's only so many Diaz, Hattons or old DLH he can fight for big money. He's going to make big money against Cotto but it sure won't be easy and he's going to get hit big time.

Look at a list of top 10 ATGs and compare.
No opponents and weights to go that high.
Beating Cotto will not rise him 10 positions.
Fair enough cotto seems to be one of the most overated boxer in the last ten years, the only win that seems to puts him on the pound for pound list was beating Mosley, When he beat judah judah was already on a losing streak, he simply aint in the class of mayweather and pacquiao, same as hatton.
But if Pacquiao went on beat Mosley, Mayweather and a convincing win against Marquez ? how can you not have a good case for him to be one of the best of all time. If I was him those are the fights i would want before retirement.
PPL consider Mayweather one of the g.o.a.t
but his record card is good but not as good as pac, he didnt fight morales and barrera, and fight he is yet to marquez and he seems to duck and dodge anything like a threat to him.
Pac for president no way... congressman maybe.. but I still doubt if he can win... manny is no brainer in politics.. lots of leeches around him ready to suck his juice.. lol

One avoids damaged goods sooner or later, and live to reap benefits.

I agree mang, pac has accomplished what millions of boxers in the whole wide world can only dream of. But the problem is he's still young to retire from boxing, you know super athletes retiring from the game only to find out later that there's this itch pushing them back to the sports they love.
Regarding his political plans, manny may not know this but I am convinced that he's already politically dead and may not win the next election. Hangers on pretending to be advisers are goading to run in another congressional district because it's a sure win may turn out to be another KO of pacman in the Philippine political arena. But that's just me, although we'll surely know if my theory is right after the May, 2010 election.
I hope he sticks around too homey. Dude is a fighter not a politician. I think he'd lose the election anyway, just like last time. Even if they wanted him in office, I don't think Filipinos would want it now while he can still fight. Probably why he lost last time. They ain't ready to let go of Pac the fighter yet.
politics will ruin his image.
he should just get into charities and maybe get involved in philippines sports.
buy a pba team , get involved in an amateur boxing program , etc.
things that'll keep him busy.
This makes sense. It'd be odd to see him holdin political office.
Pacquiao said after beating Hatton that he would join Politics on the september elections, it's all bullshit.
It's not like fighters these days fight every month and after doing so they retire.
in pac's last 3 fights he hasn't gotten hurt, so why retire?.September election? where is that? :lol1:
@spacey- hey bro, that one was not for you, it was a general statement. Anyways let's all hope that pac realize as early as now that he's being an idiot for going politics.
I hope he don't walk, but no prob if he does. Pac ain' got shit left to prove, he made a ton of $, he got a family at home, and he's plannin on doin political shit in the Philippines.I agree mang, pac has accomplished what millions of boxers in the whole wide world can only dream of.
