True Or False: Floyd Makes People Dislike Him
True. If he were a bit humble and thinks broader, he would have been a potential Legend. But that`s not what he is.
floyd does make people dislike him, but I dunno if its on purpose.
This is kinda what I sometimes think... I said he bring some of the shit on himself and all, but I don't know whether its just him or hes doing it for an act... I mean some of it is an act, but sometimes I am unsure.
He brings a lot on himself...
Well yeah, people are still a bit too far with it and all and I think some people blame him for too much shit, like the racial comment he brought on himself but sometimes I think he could take a shit and still get blamed for it.
He does bring a lot on himself fair enough but this doesn't mean we should be negative and blame him for every single thing he does... fair is fair.
he does 2 a degree
I think he def does make people dislike him but thats when hes leading up 2 a fight...he even admitted that numerous times...he can play a great villian and it sells....but then aftr fights hes very respectfull and gracious....im not sure what hes talkn about w the racist bs tho
True
...But that's his persona. That's how he's able to sell tickets because people pay to see him lose. The shit he talks on a regular basis is all for promoting his fights. I mean, who in their right mind is saying they DON'T wanna see a fight with Mosley and Floyd, but Floyd will be the 1st to tell you he doesn't draw anything and so on.
But where he's f@ckin himself if thinking people are going to jump fences to see him just because who he is when now you've got a fighter (Pacquiao) who is much more exciting and is without question one of the rising stars not only in Boxing, but in the Sports World in general.
I think after Nov 14th, regardless of the winner of Cotto vs Pac, we're going to see who REALLY is the draw in Boxing today.
I wouldn't care if i'm hated or loved as long as i'm making money, feeding your family is the most important thing
Money 1st, Legacy 2nd all day every day
Yeah you're right about that man. I do clearly remember a few threads a while back about how Hatton will KO him because Floyd's weak to the body (huh? evidence?) DLH is too big and too skilled and all that...not his fault that he got the better of them.
I think Floyd is kinda like Mason Dixon: People know he's better than "really good" but they want a glimpse of that extra something which makes a fighter great.
Well said.
I think he would have more fan base and make more money if he was to be liked in the main stream.
That wouldn't work
If he done that he'd be another Williams or Mosley, a guy who has to beg for fights and earn 2 - 3 mil instead of the 15 - 20 mil per fight he will more than likely get for the rest of his career
I think he would have more fan base and make more money if he was to be liked in the main stream.
in the early parts of his career he was. for some reason he changed persona. hes a nice guy, he just acts up to build up fights. make ppl dislike him.
I like competitive fights also, those fights didnt look as competitive after they had started, going into many of those fights people would come up with ways on how Floyd would lose, so he gets backlash when they arnt as competitive like thats his fault. But I know what you mean...there are past threads with many saying Oscar, Baldomir, Hatton and others would beat Mayweather, whether it be they are too big or too strong.

Which fights were those?
I should probably re-phrase that statement. I can see how it sounds stupid.
I guess what I'm trying to say is it's like when may fought gatti...from the opening bell it was pretty obvious that floyd was gonna win...same with baldomir...same with hatton maybe not from the opening bell but pretty quickly in the opening rounds...people view his fight with DLH to be boring and not close....and a lot think marquez will lose due to size...etc
I think people might want to see him in a few fights where there is a good back and forth that creates excitement...I can't speak for everyone but the fights I generally enjoy the most are ones that are closely contested...or ones that have good displays of boxing/fighting skills on both sides
