The Real Deal Holyfield, but he wasn't at 175 for very long.
michael moorer was a light heavy in his early career
Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Hagler have the style that could give a prime Roy Jones trouble. they both had great chins a good work rate with power in both hands. They both went to the body and Hagler being a south paw which Jones has had issues with would be a prime to take a victory in my mind. As for Spinks I think Roy would be able to take him by either UD or late round KO. Spinks had no heart after seeing him crumble in front of Tyson the man was scared to death. I think Roy would intimidate him. Spinks would see highlight reels of Roy with both hands behind his back sticking his chin out and then hooking off and laying out foes. This would give Spinks nightmares. Holy nerver fought at LHW he never fought at or below 175.....Lefty
Roy's first fight with Montell Griffin was pretty competitive, if I remember right. I know Roy destroyed him quickly in the rematch, but the first fight showed that Roy could be beaten, if not properly motivated. Plus I think Roy fouled him on purpose, because things weren't exactly going his way, at least not the cakewalk he usually had.
I'll say Michael Spinks and Moorer at LHW. Michael Nunn at MW would've been interesting and I think a more experienced Hopkins'd give him a spot of trouble. Quawi at LHW'd be competitive as well.
Tarver, Johnson, Mclellan
how can you say tarver??? tarver couldnt beat a weight drained jones in their first fight. when jones showed signs of former self in the third fight tarver wanted no part of it. jones KO's tarver easy in his prime. i also think he hands johnson his ass to. they both caught jones on the decline dont let it fool you. he was much faster and stronger in his prime and KO's tarver and widely beats down johnson.
Are you joking i took a gift decision for him to beat a 44 yearold hopkins.
Evander Holyfield and Micheal Moorer would beat him if you count the cruisers.
I agree with you on Holyfield, but Joe whopped Hopkin's ass.
has god made a fighter in the last 35 years from 160 to 175
that you think could beat a prime roy jones Jr.???
explain how????
The Real Deal Holyfield, but he wasn't at 175 for very long.
Michael Spinks would have given Jones a lot of trouble at 175. I think Dwight Muhammad Qawi had the style and the chin to give Jones some serious problems.
160, maybe Hagler but he might have been too small, he was weighing in in the 150s on the same day as the fight.
hagler takes jones at 160 imo ...calzaghe prime for prime would be a good one i know your all gonna go crazy but it really would be a close fight
Which fight is that in your sig? That's some brutal KO right there! :shk1:
There are quite a few who could have challenged him. Roy showed some vulnerabilities against lefties. One that comes to mind that nobody mentioned is Michael Moorer. He was really tearing it up at lt heavy before jumping up. He had good speed and killer power.
He would have been dangerous for anyone.
When it comes to prime Roy I'd pick Benn, Jackson and McClellan to give him the hardest fights of his career. Eubank would be tricky, but not too hard.
i dont even know if mayweather went up to that weight if he could beat prime RJJ. dude was a freak of nature. still kinda is too
I know, and the answer is hell no.
