I'm not starting shit, but I want to get everyone elses thoughts. They have some great names on there resume. They also have some devastating loses to.
I honestly don't think so, people like to Shit on Hatton but the guy was pretty good, he went out well vs Mayweather and was a very good fighter. The Pac/Floyd sr stuff was pretty bad, but Hatton up to Mayweather was a bit of a beast, who came up short vs 2 possible Atg.
Taylor is a good boxer, imo he was not over rated look at the names on his resume, he should have beaten Pavlik both times.
Both don't really live right for boxers though and i reckon that hasn't helped them either, specially in Taylor's case.
I think putting Mayweather Sr as an advisor before the Pacquiao's fight was a terrible move from Hatton's team

Jermaine...hard to evaluate. He did beat hopkins...what was it twice? Even though people do not agree with the outcome he was at least competative enough to convince judges.
hatton, on the other hand, was completely overrated imo. He fought tired fighters (Tzsyu...and he punched Tzsyu deliberately and received not so much as a warning) and failed to even show against elite fighters who were in their prime.
Jermain is a worrior, he's not overrated,
if he had better stamina, he might still
be undefeated.
If Terry Norris had a chin
If Zab Judah had a heart
If George Bush had a brain
after the 1st fight with BHOP, JT was WWWWWAAAAAAYYYYY overrated to the point i couldnt really watch his fights anymore without throwng my shoe at the tv. i used to dislike him until he lost to Pavlik & the media got off his nutsack.... now he is one of my fav boxers.
that was my only gripe with hopkins if he starts early i think he ko's taylor each time. I thought the first was was good the second was was boring but i still hink bhop won both of them.
Yes. Taylor and Hatton showed major signs of vulnerability before being humiliated in their first losses. Hatton getting beat up by a gatekeeper, and Jermain didn't look like a strong champ during and post Hopkins. There's absolutely no excuse for that Spinks performance.
lol okay biggest disgrace is pushin a lil but i get so upset when i think about the two hopkins fights. Seriously watch them again he wins them easy and two listen to the hbo announce team BIG RIGHT HAND FROM TAYLOR when he is doing nothing. When hopkins hits him with a great 3 punch combo THOSE PUCNCHES DON'T AFFECT THE KID FROM ARKANSAS
jermain taylor is and was overrated he lost twice to hopkins i dont care what anyone says. First fight he was on queer street for the last two rounds. And the second fight he lost by 2 or 1 rounds. He was a HBO baby but they couldn't save him from a white guy with punching power lol. Jermain taylor was and is a disgrace to boxing.
I think Hatton was before the Mayweather fight but Taylor's rep was where it should have been IMO. He was under quite a lot of criticism for his performance against Spinks.
hatton had a bit more hype around him and it was obvious to alot of people that a slick, smart and well conditioned boxer like mayweather would beat him. hatton did have a fan friendly style, natural charisma and his down to earth approach charmed alot of audiences so its easy to see why there was a bit of hype.
as for taylor i didn't see the loss to pavlik coming, truthfully i think that kelly is tailor made for a boxer puncher like JT but he just didn't have the stamina to finish him. i dont think he was ever over rated before his loss to kelly but we were al a bit quick to label him as the future dominant force at MW.
