Considering this:
He has travelled around the world defending his belt.
Hardly lost a round before facing Calzaghe with an injured hand.
Beating 4 world SMW champions and Librado Andrade, who was 5 seconds away from defeating Bute.
...... and then you say his record is piss poor? Let me say this: His record shits on the other guys in this tournament and if his record is piss poor it must mean that the others compares unfavourably to hungarian journeymen.
I normally think you make solid posts bringer so I give you a Mulligan on this one.
Is it any surprise?
We've always disagreed on Kessler.
No biggie.
If he wins the tournament ; I'll be impressed.
But I got 200K that says he doesn't.

no it doesn't. only ward and dirrels. you think a guy like manny siaca(holy crap how did he become champ) or markus beyer(sven ottke robber clone) are better wins than taylors wins over hopkins or frochs wins over taylor and pascal.
saying he has 4 wins over champs is misleading cause his best win is over andrade who was never even champ. that shows you how bad those "champs" really were.
Technically speaking, his skills are very solid and he does deserve some credit there.
Resume wise, his record is piss poor. You know you're in bad shape when Librado Andrade is your best win, and you're most known for losing a fight, than winning it. (Calzaghe.)

Dirrell and Ward.
He's never been in with the likes of them.
Kessler will need a lot more headmovement than he's shown in the past to beat them.
I think you are either massively overrating those two or underrating Kessler. Particularly Dirrell. Kessler dominates the absolute shit out of him.
Fill me up please, because from what I've seen it's nothing out of this world, hell I'll even put Froch over him anyday.
Points if it happens. Froch has NO chance against Kessler. He would look foolish.

They overrate him for his goldmember.

nah, and please americans think lennox lewis is an over-rated euro-bum who dont even belong in the top 100 as usual. even though real objective non-american boxing fans can clearly see Lennox Lewis is a top ten heavyweight of all time.
Alot of Americans like Lewis. I also think alot of them rate him highly h2h. We also accepted Naz too

^^^the truth^^^^
He is European therefore he is over-rated according to americans. but i guess thats the case with all fighters from europe. they will never get any respect from the yankees.
just quit while your ahead, actually, your not even ahead just quit lol
and lewis is a top 10 HW
I like Kessler alot, but people do make him out to be a boing God. But I think most of his fans are Calzaghe fans
^thats the probblem^

He's overrated by some people and then there is some people who go out of their way to constantly slight him. I view Pascal as a more skilled boxer than Kessler though. And that is why I favor Froch to win the Supper Middleweight tourney.
He ain't overrated or underrated. He's a dude who got some skills but refuses to fight anybody past the Joe C fight, at least til this tourney.
Whom did he refuse to fight after Calzaghe? Enlighten me.. Miranda was in works yes, don't remember why it didn't happen - but I reckon the two other fights Sartison and Haussler was mandatory for the WBA belt.. and the past inactive year has been due to promotor problems etc. It's not like he didn't try to get the big fights after, he was in USA to get Hopkins but he turned down 5 million, and no one else wanted him at that time, so I don't see what else he could do.
