idk guys but i think hes faster than manny now! amir khan is as fast as 130 pounder pacquiao! watch morales pacquiao 1 and amir khan vs barrera! DAMN! i think manny lost a little bit of his speed but hes power increased! i hope roach helps amir to toughen amirs chin! :boxing::boxing::boxing:
The problem with the majority of his fanbase is that one big loss, or any loss at this stage in his career is likely to derail his following. If he manages to fight and beat hatton, after saturday - then maybe. Until then it's all speculation. Not to mention he also needs to get past Murray at lightweight, if, in fact, Murray stays there. Perhaps the two of us simply have differences upon what we consider large fanbases, but at this stage in his career, I am finding it very difficult for him to ever prove me wrong. And hey, if he does I'll be happy about it, because there's nothing wrong with having another British boxer at that kind of level. Until then, however. I just don't see that happening, nor do I see him bringing twenty thousand people to Las Vegas in the future, near or far.
I agree with you somewhat, but I believe that Khan will always have a large British fanbase after his olympic success and fighting style. I have never seen him in a boring fight.
I don't believe John Murray has done enough to warrant a shot at Khan. His last fight was against an Amir Khan victim who he struggled against for 6 rounds. In 27 fights he has a much weaker resume than Amir Khan. If Khan loses against Kotelnik then Murray would be a good comeback fight. But if he wins I don't ever see Murray being in a position to fight Khan, unless he earns it by beating decent competition.
You said he will never be a big draw. He is already a big draw. And I don't think anybody expects him to reach the levels of popularity Hatton, Pacquaio, and Oscar have. Those three boxers stand on their own. But if Khan wins on Saturday and secures a fight with Hatton and then wins again, his future ppv sales will rival Hattons in the UK.

My quote says that he's never going to have an "extremely" large fanbase, like those of Pac, Floyd, Oscar or Hatton. Sure he's got fans and and even a nuthugger or two on NSB. He's just never going to achieve their levels of popularity. That's what I'm saying.

2. He already has a large fanbase. He sells out every arena he fights in, and has solid ppv sales for a prospect. And if people don't respect a boxer because he has a weak chin, then they aren't real fans of boxing. I respect Khan because he fights on regardless of his flaws and puts on a show.

Agreed. He's quick. He'll never be a big draw, however, because despite his speed, not only does his chin put him at a great disadvantage, but it also ensures a couple of things -
1. He's never going to get in any 'wars' that go the distance, both elite fighters surviving multiple knockdowns
2. He's never going to have an extremely large fanbase, not only for the aforementioned reason, but also because out of all a boxer's possible flaws, the one which most fans lose respect for a boxer is if he has a weak chin.

All that speed dont matter if you can't take a punch. This is boxing not some gymnastics shit.
That's like playing football(usa) but can't deliver or take a hit. Or playing Soccer but can't kick worth a damn.

so this is basically just hand speed? cause i was taught that hand speed was just one part of being quick...dodging and accuracy play a big part in how fast someone is...but even with just hand speed...pac doesn't come close to mayweather or judah...i don't think that pac is faster than paul williams...
Since when is Williams known for his handspeed?
Amir has taken the power off his shots thats why he looks so fast, he is not punching with maximum power anymore, because to punch with power you have to turn your punches over more and stay in range longer to generate the power and Amir has had a bad experience trying to trade leather before, so he has resorted to pitty patting and moving over after he has finished up his combination's.
Most fighters can look fast if they are not putting power into their shots, Meldrick Taylor used to throw pitty pat combos and look Super fast but there was nothing on his punches.
Khan used to punch with power and speed but now he is only punching with speed from long range so he does not get drawn in.
Pacquaio punches with speed and power, there is a huge difference.
I wouldn't say that Khan pitty pats. He has decent power and is by no means pillow fisted. He relies on his speed and accuracy to force stoppages. So while he doesn't have one punch KO power, he has enough to warrant an opponents attention.

pacquiao is #1 p4p right now because of his speed and power. they even references his speed in WWE when someone tries to be fast, that's how fast he's considered. Merchant says nobody can see his punches and Lampley says he's blindingly fast. How can we disagree? He's dropping people left and right by punches they don't see coming. He threw a HOOK faster than hatton threw his straight right which he even ducked under AFTER landing the hook. That's insane logistics. There's no way you can go against Pacquiao right now for speed. If you do, your biased or a Pac hater without a doubt. BTW enough with this Judah shit, the guy is a C class bum who hasn't done shit in his career. Fast hands? I must of missed them because they are sooo fast during his legendary wins.
Really? That is interesting. So why does Roach say Khan is faster i wonder?
I want Hatton to come out and comment on Pacs speed and abilities. I want to know if Hatton thinks Pac performed as a No1 p4p should do?
I want to know if Hatton thinks Pac is much better than he originally believed him to be?
I want Hatton to really give pac his dues!

one thing about that hatton shot...that was planned damn near 2 weeks before...if you watched 24/7...there was a part where hatton and mayweather sr are laughing at pac on tv cause they say he's doing the same right hook, duck under and right hook...it was exactly what was happening when hatton got ko'ed...pac just couldn't finish it...
i'm not trying to take anything away from pac...dude is a great fighter...but we have no idea about him until he fights some legit welterweights...sure he'd look great against DLH and hatton...the first thing mayweather sr said was that hatton had no defense and he would get clobbered if he ran in like that...exactly what happened...i can't chunk that up to speed...i can chunk it up to timing tho...sure you need speed for it...but if someone has your game plan...things become a lot easier for them...pac throws wide looping punches...lately he's tightened them up...he never moved his head too much...that's why JMM caught him with so many crazy shots...but pac did the exact same thing and got the best of him...
i called mayweather the fastest because he could get shots off before...during...and after an individual throws a punch...pac does the same...but unlike mayweather...if the opponent sees it...they can jump out the way and reset...
zab judah is a special case...to me he is one of the most inconsistent fighters ever...seems like after the first 4 rounds...he damn near gives up...he was beating floyd's ass for the first 3...then he stopped throwing...it's like he's bipolar...but the one thing he was doing was beating floyd to the punch...but floyd turned it up and zab got quiet...you can see this in a lot of his fights...he was whooping kostya tszyu's ass before he suffered the worst knockout in boxing history...shit...other than cory spinks shitty ass...he only suffered losses from great fighters...call him a bum...but dude can throw a punch quicker than most out there...

now wait a second man. i havent heard a black call himself a negro in a long time. you must be old.
i can assume you're around a lot of black people then?

u are a screwhead. let me go out on a limb and say that you are black or a wigger.
lol no1 if faster then pacquiao u boxing noobs, pacquiao holds the p4p fastest hands in the sport followed by mayweather.
no he doesn't. my dad's friend's ucle's daughter's boyfriend's friend's sister's cousin visited the wild card gym the other day and pacquiao and khan were there training. all of a sudden there were gunshots and everybody dropped to the floor. when it was all over, it turned out that it was just kahn shadow boxing and breaking the sound barrier with his punches. pac was amazed.
