the official card was - 117-111, 116-112 and 116-112
BUT
the British and Danish press had it much closer at 115-113
WHILST the American press had it - 118-110
I can't remember how I scored it at the time but it was certainly alot closer than the official and the US card.
I dont have a card, but all I remember was after the 4th, Calzaghe began to dominate. I dont even beleive he lost a round after the 4th.
Correct me if I'm wrong
Anyone that had the fight a draw or Kessler winning is a straight up hater, troll or ignorant on how to score a fight. Calzaghe/Kessler was close early and then Joe clearly dominated for almost the entire 2nd half of the fight, Joe was clearly outclassing Kessler. I can't see how Kessler could have won more then 4 rounds on any unbiased card.
Those using the "injured hand" excuse need to let it go because Joe had both of his hands and wrists severely injured for the last 5 years of his career and Mikkel was throwing both hands while sitting on his punches during the fight so it couldn't have been bothering him that much...
Kessler won 1-4 and 12 round, so 7-5 i will say

I know, anybody otherwise than Calzaghe had gone down if they was hit like this, great chin
What's funny is neither shot is all that flush. He's riding the straight right and is tucked firm chin/chest on the cut...shows how subtle the defenses really are out there.
116-112, or 115-113 for Calzaghe.
Yup same, I've watched it a few times, twice scored it 116-112, once 115-113. I think it was 8-4 all in all, very clear win but also very competitive. You'd expect that from the two best SMW's.
I had it 7-5 i thought Kessler would have taken him if he had a healthy right hand and had enouogh sparring.
I think Calzaghe would have won by an even wider decison if he ate Weetabix that morning, and didn't stub his toe on the hoover plug.
Calzaghe took 2 severe uppercuts and took them both from what I remember.

115-113 calzage won.... it was closer than people think, kessler defintley through the best punches! just not enough of them... kesslers right uppercut in the middle rounds was glorious!!!!
Me too 115-113 and Calzaghe won
And the right uppercut was fantastic:boxing:
