Sugar Ray Leonard can't say that, what's your point? That Hopkins had a longer prime?
My point is he lost the majority of his big fights...yet he gets the paid the lion share in all of em lol...
Speak for yourself. Good riddance, is what I say. As a hardcore fan, De La Joto left a bitter taste in my mouth. Why, because he could've been more than a guy who made his $$$ off his looks, he had the talent and skills to be a legitimate ATG, but, his balls shriveled up against top comp.
Every big DLH fight, I always expected it to be thrilling, yet, I was treated to a snoozefest for the most part. The only fight were I felt he gave it all, even in losing, it didn't matter to me, 'cause I knew he gave it a good go and it was against Shane in their first fight.
Winning is great. But, showing that Warrior spirit is all I ask for in a fighter.
I agree. I lost a lot of respect for Oscar as the years went on. I was once a big fan and then just got sick of all the let downs.
At least Bernard can say he won MEANINGFUL fights in this decade...

You're living in the past mexican.
Oscar is retired and you don't have anybody to shake your pom poms for.
Perro got beat by Cintron of all people....and Ortiz just proved to be another hype-job.
That's why you're FORCED to ride Fanny Pac nuts.
wow... that was really unnecessary
yeah its stupid to say cotto can beat whomever and they can now beat oscar. many people can now beat oscar. the oscar of 98-99 or so is untouchable by cotto. imo the vargas, quartey, trinidad, mosley x 2, and whitaker, hopkins, mayweather and pacquiao (we'll find out) would all beat cotto. that means cotto would have around 9 losses imo facing dlh's competition, which is actually very good.
i think dlh has preserved and grown his wealth better than any other athlete
oscar earns more for one fight tahn ronaldo earns in a week.
i wonder what athletes have made more money over their careers as oscar has?
im thinking maybe michael jordan?

...and people give Floyd shit for the numbers he did vs. Judah and Baldomir. 7 of Oscar 19 PPV's had buyrates below 400K.
Those are still good numbers against average fighters. Oscar's PPV record is better than Floyds.
I still got some respect for DLH for what he once was as a fighter, and the $ he brought in. But I enjoyed seein him checked outta boxing by lil Pac. Served him right.
World class football ( soccer ) players could probably top that. Including sponsorships and shit.
how about TIGER WOODS 115mil,30mil for jordan when he still playing sponsorship not counted....lmao
TS u should put this to...

At least Hopkins beats the opponents he faces at catchweights, and makes them his bitches in fights he is made the underdogg in. On the other hand this guy gets made into a bitch, TKOed and quits in fights people were considering a missmatch.
You ever hear Hopkins calling a fighter that just made him quit into retirement his idol?
bhop never has to come in at crazy catchweights that would weight drain him like in that fight
oscar was robbed in the tito fight no way in hell he lost that fight
