the only point im trying to make is that just because a couple hundred hardcore fans care about belts dont mean they mean something. caba has belts but still is unknown to the general public. belts get vacated and stripped all the time for stupid reasons. The opponent that Lopez is getting ready to fight has a bunch of losses and it makes your argument lame. I am not really a fan of Cotto because I think he is not as good as the Ricans make him out to be. But at least he was matched up tougher than what Lopez is being matched. And the sad thing is, I actually view Lopez as the better fighter with a lot more talent.

The last part of your post makes no sense because Caballero has two straps. One of them he won off a paper champ in Molitor though. I'll admit that. Molitor got the IBF without fighting Vasquez, but that's not the point. The WBO belt that Cotto won was against a horrible opponent. Thats not a good excuse mate, There is nothing like been called the WBO/WBA/IBF superbantam weight champion and a chance to stake is claim for a fight with either Vasquez or raphael marquez.....How is juanma fighting no-names with nothing to offer going to help his exposure has oppose to an unknown fighter who has two belts??? the only people that care about alphabet belts are the 100 or so members of boxingscene.com and a couple other boxing forums. im not saying that bums will help jml get exposure im sayin the more he headlines fights at msg, the more he will get exposure. only hardcore boxing fans(which there are not that many of) care about the bantamweight division and lighter. i was sitting in msg watching cotto vs clottey and when ivan calderon came out to fight 2 p.r. guys sitin behind me were talking about who the hell is ivan calderon. thats the reality of the lack knowledge the average boxing fans have which is sad.

I think that Gamboa might actually be a more dangerous fight than Caballero, but he is not as good to have on your resume. And even if I'm not dying to see a Caballero-Lopez fight, that doesn't mean that Lopez has to keep fighting bums. The reason why i think the caba fight should happen now is because the way is cleared for the fight to happen with all the belts involve but it seems Arum doesnt fancy it, This is a 50-50 fight just like the ponce de leon fight and they took that fight which juanma won in one round so why not caba???

Really? I'm glad Lopez is giving Mtagwa an opportunity after his terrific fight with Tomas Villa last year.
