Daaaaaaayyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuummmmmmmm!
I thought I looked up old threads, but this one is 8 years old.
I'm impressed...
:usa2:
Nice to see not much has changed in the last 8 years though. A fighter has to be either a P4Per or a bum. Gotta love NSB.
BUM
he not goin nowhere fighting bums and with that style; hands down, chin up. quick hands though but that shit dont matter if you get hit flush by REAL competition.
totally agree.
and plus, he has no punching power.
impressiving showing??? he fight with bums and go to the flor many times
wow it seems that from long time i havent been watching boxing.
But he movement is pretty good as I could remeber
I saw him against Gonzalez live for a Friday Night Fight event at Primm, Nv and the guy is insanely, insanely fast. However, his defense was horrible, looks even worse in person. I see him as a mini Roy Jones Jr, but he's not able to get away from as many punches, he's simply in there with faster opponents than Jr was and he gets caught more. Also... he seems to show off more than Roy does and that doesn't help either. I think he could be P4P if he worked on his defense A LOT more but its almost too late for that I think. IDK if he'll be P4P but I wouldn't count it out, he does have the skills I just don't think its likely to happen.
I see Gamboa winning a few more times and probably becoming a champion (none of this interim bullcrap please) before losing by upset knockout.
One thing about Gamboa though, everyone is already saying "When the guy gets exposed..." or "He is going to get exposed one day..." but what is "exposed" in your books? The way I see it, he HAS BEEN EXPOSED, but its not a terrible thing! We've all seen that he can be hit, he can be hurt and he can be dropped (4 times in 15 fights) but has handled it very well, and is 4-0 (3) in those fights! We've seen him exposed as having a slightly shaky chin (though he has never been BADLY hurt) and for being too cocky and having a sloppy defense at times, but like some other more popular fighters who we have seen hurt (Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto to name some present day ones) he recuperates extremely fast! Gamboa has plenty of talent, great skills, absolutely incredible athletic ability but has been exposed for not being the worlds toughest man (which, though handy as hell, is not necessary to be a boxer). But man oh man, when he gets hit, does he ever let the other guy have it!
It kills me that he’s getting knocked down by journey men fighters as he progresses’ in each fight and yet his handlers have done nothing to correct his defensive flaw. It makes you wonder if there are intentions to hype him up for a big payday and then cash out when he gets exposed.
Peace.
Hes already been exposed he has poor defense and a shaky chin. Theres really nothing left to expose its just a matter of can you get to him before he tears you up.

I say give him Floyd Mayweather Sr. and he can be P4p.
Nope. Floyd's guys are naturally defensive talented. Gamboa is a no defense, offensive slugger. He could end up like Hatton, if he gets Sr. as a coach.
he dont have solution .... the boxers have a natural instint he have ficical condition and nathing else
:pat:
Gamboa's defense has improved...haven't you guys noticed it? He's now more patient than before... He doesn't have a weak chin like many people say. and he's not fighting bums, Juanma is!
Only time will tell, but I'm sure Gamboa will be on the p4p list, he might not make it to No.1 but he'll sure be top 10.
Remember I said this.
