Juan Manuel Marquez is on the slide.
Juan Diaz gave him hell and wobbled him.
77-75 for Marquez. Max DeLuca had it 77-75 for Diaz, and Levi Martinez had it 76-76. Yahoo! Sports had it 77-75 for Diaz
An old shot Casamayor was outboxing him early on.
Manny Pacquiao had him on the canvas AGAIN!! and i actually thought he won the fight this time, not to say i thought he lost the 1st but i thought this was more convincing.
That's nearly the worst scoring for a fight I've seen. You gave him one round? One? After the fourth, he was basically starting to beat the shite out of Diaz. Landing the cleaner, harder shots, pulling Diaz in for counters and taking him apart slowly. No offense, but you absolutely have no idea what you are looking at when boxers are fighting. No idea. None whatsoever.
One round? :lol1:
Co sign. 100%.
I wasnt sure if this was a new thread or old one (so I may have posted this already) but I agree, even as a huge JMM fan, he has seen better days. Not shot by any means, but he is taking shots he would have seen a couple years ago.
i agree on what you say but it also had to do with his experience and his focus in the katsidis fight he was losing but he kept his composure and with a brawler like katsidis all he had to was counter
now agains jmm he wasnt shot and he gave everything he had but jmm boxing is great all around
Dude lets be honest, Katsidis lost that fight, not Casa won it.
Kats was so dominant that he started getting wreckless and taken silly chances.
No he is shot because he looked shot, and because he has been in tough fights with Freitas,Corrales 3x and Castillo you could argue.
I think he was losing the Kats fight on the scorecards before he scored that KO.

I disagree.
Casamayor was past his prime but still a good fighter with a good skillset plus had never been stopped before, Marquez was able to box with him and knocked him out.
Diaz is a big lightweight who is a very good pressure fighter, He was able to make Marquez fight his bollocks off early, Marquez was able to weather the storm, fight back and knock out Diaz for the first time.
Thats impressive imo.
what made JMM's late run possible is his hunger... his heart & mind is still up there with the elites...
his body & reflexes though still capable, appear to be not on the same high level with that incredible fighting heart & mind of his in those 2 fights u mentioned...
......Thank you!!

Casamayor was shot and Juan Diaz was knocked out for 4 full min in sparring prior to the Campbell fight, which he lost!!
getting knocked out in sparring doesnt mean shit. sugar ray was knocked out in sparring when he was preparing to fight hagler
yeah he's on the slide... i mean only someone on the slide would move up to a new weight class and KTFO TWO (2) guys who'd NEVER been KO'd before. yup, on the slide :alcoholic

marquez is like an engine, he needs to heat up then will outbox his opponent
anyone who thinks casamayold was outboxing marquez should not be taken seriously....
Well its been a long time since i saw it so you will have to forgive me.
two judges had the fight scored 95-95
Casa thrown 552, landed 122
Marquez thrown 516, landed 160
Look at the stats though, hardly points to a white wash for Marquez does it? Casa was giving him trouble early to what i remember, Marquez might have got to grips with him eventually but.........
You think that's bad? In 3 viewings, I could only give Marquez one round (the 8th). That's how silly and old he was being made to look on the night, before that fortunate KO.
I'm a fan, but that fight was really bad for him in every way. He did nothing right until the cut and backpedalled worse than Cotto (but not as fruity).

Anyway, I don't really get this thread. What's the point of it? Diaz had hardly lost a fight as even the Campbell fight was very close and Casamayor, despite being old was still an amazing fighter and would have given anyone in that division hell. Marquez knocked them both out. I don't think there is a fighter around that would have done that to both of those guys, apart from him.
I still kind of agree, because he is on the slide. He is 36 years old after all and has been in a lot of hard fights. But, he's still better than everyone else.
