I guess as the one remaining Ricky fan on this board, I have to defend him somewhat. Yes, JMM is the superior fighter, everybody and their grandmother know this. However, JMM is there to be hit if put under pressure and he doesn't have one shot KO power like Pacquiao. Ricky got destroyed against Pac because of the clash of styles - it was perfectly made for Manny. JMM does not have the speed, power, stance or movement of Pac to cause any kind of KO against Ricky. If JMM can handle the power of Ricky, which is above average, then he can box his way to a wide UD. IMO its 50/50 as we don't know how the higher weight will affect JMM. At this moment in time though, Ricky would KO him.

it would be a tossup. ricky's aggressiveness and being much bigger against jmm's superior boxing skills. ricky lost to pac because of pac's footwork and southpaw stance. not to mention his speed. he cant figure out where pac was all the time, then got caught out of nowhere w/ bombs. i dont see jmm running around hatton, nor as fast as pac so ricky would be able to do what he does best, swarm and bully.

Exactly. I don't even really count the Pac fight in my analysis. This is purely a matter of pedigree. JMM has it in spades and Hatton doesn't. The Pac/hatton fight was a bit of a mirage anyway. If Pac hadn't landed that lucky punch that fight mightve turned out different. I agree. If Pac didn't land those 2 Lucky knockdowns in round 1, Hatton might have beaten him. If there was extra 20 seconds in round 1, the outcome would be different.,
