I honestly think that on November 14th the old beast in cotto will come back. The Cotto that beat Branco, Quintana, judah will enter that ring and leave that ring with arm raised and that belt around his waist. If pacman wins, then he will get my 100% props and will be considered great in beating a fighter who beat mosley, clottey, etc.:boxing:

Skill Wise I rate JMM above Cotto overall. Hell I rate JMM over everyone skill wise overall. Overall though I feel Cotto is more dangerous to Manny than JMM is. Cotto has considerable power behind his punches and he is quick enough to land them. Cotto is also smart and is very good at not only moving forward, but also boxing. The key for Cotto though is to use his jab and use it a lot. If he lets manny come in and tee off all night, he will just get that scar tissue opened up big time which reduces his chances dramatically. This is a huge risk fight for Manny and Cotto. Many in here think Cotto is some sort of cakewalk for Manny now with his recent struggles, but he is coming off from fighting two of the most durable welterweights alive. Manny will not have that type of durability and will need to fight smart.

JMM is a better fighter than Cotto. I don't agree that Cotto is on the same level as Marquez. The only advantage he has is size. But size don't win fights. True, JMM will probably go down with pacman as one of the best fighters ever.

Check Cottos last 3 fights and his connect percentages along with landed punches raio, then check marquezes, this will show you who is more skilled. Marquez has been fighting better fihgters than Cotto has in his last 4 fights. Clottey landed more on Cotto and landed at a very high connect percentage, Cotto landed much less, and his connect percentage was horrible. Translation Cotto got outboxed, almost everyone agrees on this, what they say however is that Cotto pulled a rabbit out of his hat by beeing gritty, which shows he was outboxed. He clearly beat Norwood and Chris John, it was not even debatble those were highway robberies. How couldn't he outbox Juan Diaz? Many of us had JMM ahead at the time of the stoppage. Also Juan Diaz is a similar opponent to Margarito, and Juan Diaz is much better than Margarito, and what happened JMM KHTFO in the 8th round. In the 9th round Cotto was getting beat up badly by Margarito, and looked like Michelle running from Tony after a tequila induced rage. When you see that a smaller man in JMM does better than a much bigger man in Cotto against little Manny, you guys should send Cotto into exhile. There you happy?

Diaz was getting tagged though, over and over trying to find Pac's body. Cotto won't make it through that kind of punishment. He did find pacs body, watch the fight again but diaz was not strong enough and there fore pac continued his assault. thats all.

I just watched the 2nd fight for the 10th time and there is NOOOOOO WAYYY that manny can take cotto's punch. Yes, manny is very, very fast and can probably knock down...not knock out cotto in a quick knock down, almost like cotto put down clottey. But when i see the way Marquez rocked manny and did not follow up for the kill like cotto does, i'm REALLY excited about this fight. Manny looked so awkward in that fight. I watched it with a manny fan and my friend looked so nervous when i would ask him what he thought cotto would do in certain situations. I need to watch it again, it is so funny. Manny has been through battles, cotto has been through wars. Is november 14 here yet???:boxing::boxing: JMM is also a better counter puncher than cotto. And to land a flush shot on pac, you have to be a REALLY good counter puncher. cotto is a good but not great counter puncher. pac won't get hit flush enough to get ko'd. I think it will be a tko win for pac in the later rounds. Cotto won't be able to take pac's high and intense workrate and will definitley gas out after the 7th round. Pac will just land flush shot after flush shot and ruin Cotto.

If any of you think Cotto has the ring savy, and counterpunching technique that made JMM arguably P4P number one, and allowed him to land more or less at will on Pacquiao, then you guys are crazy. Cottos connect percentage was horrible against Clottey, who stood infornt of him, and only used hi guard to pick off shots, Cotto will land very very little against Pacquiao, he isn't in JMM league, a man considered an ATG.

I want to add to Champs post, I watched the pac/diaz fight last and in the first 5 to 7 rounds diaz was landing ALOT of body shots. He landed more to the body than to the head. The problem with diaz is that he was not strong enough to hurt pac with his body punching because he can't leverage. The second problem is that diaz succumbed to pac onslaught. I am sure cotto will connect as many if not more body punches than diaz even if it means getting tagged by pac. and I think every one here would agree that cotto is way better than diaz. :boxing: Diaz was getting tagged though, over and over trying to find Pac's body. Cotto won't make it through that kind of punishment.

Based on your observation, this fight should not happen if it is too dangerous for Pac... he know himself better than you do and it's him who face Cotto, not you.. No one can tell but him.. No, PLEASE i want the fight to happen. I think pacman is a very, very good lightweight/jr welterweight. Not taking that away from him. I like him.

Cotto is not as skilled as Marquez. Though if he's in the fight long enough he will land that punch plenty.
