I mean, ok he talks much shit sometimes.
but he was a great fighter, he took on the best fighters, and only lost two the best.
I was great for boxing, and as a promoter his still good for boxing.
I actually hated DLH as a fighter but now I love the guy. Outside of the ring I always found him to be a great person to represent the sport and now he is even shining brighter. He is also a pretty funny gent. He may be a dick to fans or whatever but if you got to actually know him and was in his inside circle he seems like a very fun person to be around. I like DLH now.
hahahhahaha ure a homo
u got to u know him? so it wasnt just platonic sex?
i bet u wet ur pants thinking about dlh
I really thought Oscar was a standup guy,but after the Barrera-Juarez fiasco,it opened my eyes!!If u dont know what I'm talking about, that fight was a draw and as soon as Juarez made it to his dressing room,it was a loss, how does that work?
I honestly don't hate anybody. I do love boxing though and am convinced that ODLH is terrible for the sport of boxing. GBP does not really know how to promote young fighters and bring quality fights to the fans yet HBO is bowing down to GBP and giving them everything they want thus delivering bad fights to the fans tuning in to view at home. The cause and effect is that boxing is losing it's future fans before they have ever had the chance to become fans.
Oscar and Dick Schaefer believe if they want it that they can buy it. Sometimes money doesn't equal quality if not spent properly and wisely by astute "boxing businessmen".
By owning RING and basically owning HBO Boxing, Oscar has created a monopoly on the sport which as we all know is not a track record for success. Maybe Showtime and ESPN can save the sport. I believe the sport will be saved by internet PPV's personally.
only newbies to the sport hate him, if you know boxing, you would know how important Oscar was to the sport of boxing, he was a great fighter in his prime, handsome, rich, so how could people not hate him?
he has everything any man could possibly want, a beautiful wife, tons of money, and owns multiple businesses.
and he was caught on camera cross dressing. lets not forget that. him and his wife almost divorced over those pictures hahaha
...I mean, ok he talks much shit sometimes.
That is the simple answer.
Can't really "hate" on the guy. He's accomplished much in a sport that's payed him very well. He fought many of the top fighters. Won many and lost some. And now he's creating a boxing dynasty and leaving a legacy as a promoter.
But the real answer is:
He's a handsome dude with mad money and a hot wife who likes to wear fishnets and high heels on occasion.
You gotta let some sh*t slide sometimes when you're that good. :usa2:
Business Ethic is the reason DLH has lost popularity...
The fans money became more important than the fans themselves...
That's why he got owned in most of his last fights...
Promoters should stay out the ring Period....
People are upset with him because he talks too much. He always tries to spin stories in Golden Boys favor. Take Manny Pac for example. Oscar keeps showing up on t.v. trying to get the Mosley-Pacman fight but Manny doesn't want to fight another Golden Boy Productions fighter again. I believe his last three or four opponents Pac has faced have been from Golden Boy. He keeps hyping his stable of fighters up but they just let you down when the going gets tough, i.e. Victor Ortiz. They price themselves out of fights by lowballing opponents i.e. Tomasz Adamek. Is just constant bullshit by GBP this year and it needs to turn around or Oscar will lose more respect from true fans.
many fans are pissed when he chose to fight manny instead of margarito. he made them even more angrier when he made the cheesy excuse that it was personal why he chose manny.
Not really...they were upset he picked to fight a smaller man. Not that he aint fight Margarito. DLH makes more $ in a Pacquiao fight and that's Oscar's main priority.

I like him as a fighter. Just aint no need to talk about him right now.
If you look at it though he hasn't won a meaningful fight in a while...
Fighting once or twice a year doesn't work.
