Again. Say if he beats Forbes and then gets another good win and then wants a big fight. do you think HBO would let him main event a PPV in the USA? and who could it be against???
fans buy tickets and ppvs.
its gotta be an elite fighter.
and that's the thing, would a Cotto/Pacquiao/Mayweather/Mosley vs Hatton fight be a credible bout?
as I would have to think regardless of how big Ricky's following is the way he got taken out so easily by Pacquiao would have to make even his biggest fans sceptical about Ricky facing an elite fighter again.
cuz there's just no way to spin the Pacquiao fight positively for Hatton. he didn't get gradually broken down and lose a close fight in the later rounds .. hell he didn't even make it out of the second round.
he landed 18 total punches and was absolutely annihilated. (2 knock downs in round 1)
sure HBO could try to put Ricky in there yet AGAIN with an elite fighter.
but IMO it's no needed, and as much money as it could generate it isn't fair to exploit Hatton and his fanbase like that.
**Ricky's already been embarrassingly knocked out twice, no need for a 3rd time. His next bout should be his last.
The fans buy the tickets not the PPV.
Having Hatton main event a HBO PPV is a laughable thought atm.
Won't happen.

With who?

Obviously they still believe in him.
It depends if the HBO bosses still believe he can sell a PPV and actually be competitive and/or entertaining.
Which he ain't.
No HBO PPV for him anymore. At least that's what I think.
well if UK fans stilll believe in him, then obviously HBO executives will believe he can sell a PPV.
that depends on if UK fans still believe in him or not.

Not anymore I don't think.
People aren't buying PPVs anymore without megahype and no one will believe Hatton in another 24/7.
He had a terrible performance with Pacquiao.
IMO his HBO PPV days are over.Maybe even his fighting days.

as long as UK fans will watch hatton get beat up by elite fighters he will be on HBO PPVs.

After the Pacquiao fight, I remember a HBO guy stated that Ricky is always welcome and they will always show a Ricky fight as a main event for as long as he keeps fighting. So, yes he will be.
There is a difference between HBO PPV and HBO WCB.

hatton brings a huge UK crowd so it depends on who hatton fights. that said, hatton has disappointed UK fans 2x againt the best there is and I dunno if UK fans will swallow another sour/bitter pill again.
only guys hatton can make a huge PPV event are pac, pbf, mosley and cotto and all those guys stomp on hatton.
