What is with boxing fans calling boxers that lose "bums" these days. Seems so harsh of a word for someone entertaining you by fighting in the ring and you running to your keyboard to type about it. btw.......south american fighters like maidana are not polished amateur fighters brought up slowly. these guys are thrown in the mix early. they just brawl. guys that come from argentina , colombia , nicaragua , etc. are tough sob's. they don't get to this level without being tough as nails and without having pop. think of torres , mayorga , prescott , etc. ortiz made a lot of mistakes in a very winnable fight for him. he'll learn. i also think he gassed out trying to finish this guy. as long as he learns from this , ortiz has the goods to be an excellent fighter. maidana ain't no patsy. he's practically an undefeated fighter. tough as hell and has power. ask kotelnik.
