Any scorecard from Harold Letterman holds about as much weight as the way his daughter scores fights. NONE!!!
okay so in that case the fact that Lederman had Collazo winning by 3 points shouldn't mean much then, right?

Good news that last fight shouldve been a draw or slightly favorable to Collazo in my opinion.
I felt he got outclassed on the inside
me and 2 of my boy's were watching the berto/collazo fight and all 3 of us thought berto showed hella heart but collazo should've gotten the decision. wasnt a robbery because it was so close but still. either way, would like to see a rematch and settle it.
see you both had it Luis winning, but "Coming Up Short" officially lost. And what does un-officially beating Berto count for anyway?
that whine fest (another old thread) which was posted on here by Collazo in letter form complaining to the WBC was the most pathetic thing ever. You can't fight the middle (5,6,7) and (11,12) last two rounds like Collazo did vs Berto and expect to win .... you can have him winning all you want, but a large reason he lost that fight is because he gave up rounds
so instead of saying "oh he really won" why not try to look at why he lost?
**and I saw the fight in clips again about a month ago, have to say, Harold Lederman seems very misguided
after the 12th round is over, he had Collazo winning 115-112, if you recall.
but where he loses some credibility IMO is Harold said "Luis won, and outworked Berto especially in rounds 6 and 7"
and the funny thing is that in those 2 rounds Collazo (according to compubox) got out thrown + outlanded .. and a pretty good case for Berto winning BOTH rounds could be made (although the 6th was a closer)
going by Lederman's card and giving Berto the rounds he was "outworked" it switched that 115-112 Collazo W to a 114-113 Berto W, a scorecard that 2 judges actually wound up with.
funny how that works ^
and regarding a rematch, doesn't really matter if it happens cool, if not Collazo will just come up short again vs Berto.
**unless if he goes for that IBF strap of course.

Well why move foward when alot of people felt he lost that fight? It was a really really close fight, after Collazo he should look for Clottey. Thats a possible match up.
I want to see Berto get his clock cleaned just like most other people do. But Collazo just doesn't fit the bill. He lost the last two rounds of that fight after I had it even. And Berto was able to impose his will on him and land a bunch of body shots in the twelfth round because Collazo is not a particularly hard puncher. I would give someone like Delvin Rodriguez or Zab Judah a puncher's chance against Berto. What I'm getting at is the rematch is not going to be any different than their first fight. And Dibella knows that, and he knows that there's a good chance that Berto may fail against a different style.
If this happens it seems like berto just can't get fights like dawson, no one wants to fight him yet, hes too dangerous and not bringing enough money yet. I think this could be good to set up a clottey fight, if berto impressively beats collazo without any doubt this time.
I had Collazo winning by a point, I could see it either way, but regardless, Berto should rematch him before he can or should move on to more lucrative fights.
just for you, and all the other Collazo supporters
made this sig.
peep it.

it was a good close fight no matter how u put it or who u had winning.
the point is that right after the fight both dibella and berto said that they would give collazo a rematch. hopefully they are making it happen.
that article doesn't say that its a official it says, that dibella made don king an offer and are waiting... and the offer is a lot less than the first fight due to the struggling economy.
so we got to really see if the fight is on or not....
oh im not denying that, I'll agree it was a close bout (as seen by the judges as well ... 2 of them at least)
and the fact that the first fight was entertaining will possibly help force the rematch happening.
and crappy economy aside I think it helps boxing just a tiny bit
as I've noticed a signifigantly less amount of PPV's this year outside of a Top Rank one with Cotto/Pavlik a Golden Boy one headlined by Valero and of course Pacquiao vs Hatton can't think of too many PPV events
which isn't all bad, because if fans have to pay $35 or up to see fights, fans lose, IMO.

I thought it was a close, but very clear win for Berto. And I don't even like Berto. I can't really see the case for Collazo winning.
I think the next fight will be an even clearer win for Berto.
Lederman's card
It was close, but clear for Collazo imo. Can't say robbery, but I think he shoulda left wit the belt that nite homey.
Could of gone either way. I scored it for Collazo 7-5 though.

It's fair that Collazo gets a rematch, but I'm not interested at all to be honest. It's high time that Berto stepped up and faced an elite fighter. I don't rate him that highly at the moment, but I want to find out exactly how good he is.
