The what fight did you watch last night thread .............
Okay i watched Tyson v Brian Nielson.
I also watched an old FNF' card featuring Wilder v Rabotte,Escalante vs Stark,Jacobs v Varela.
Funnily enough the Boxingscene poster "Warp" was at that show and Danny Jacobs shook his hand when he got out of the ring.
What did you watch last night or the night before etc.

i remember watching them 3 fights on boxing usa
Yeah it was... Thomas starts off by trying to steam roll Jones, but gets taken into deep water & you know the rest...
And yes... Butler did (try) fight Lewis... Tysonesque, meaning from the shoulders up, but granted... That's where the similarity ends... Hell of a KO on Tubbs though... Out cold/head on the bottom rope job... Almost identical to Bruno/Coetze... It was just after his (Tubbs) ban for snorting coke... Comes out lively, looking to put on a boxing show, then boooom, sparked with 4 secs to go in the 1st... I'm pretty sure, no one else ever did that to him... He was far more concussed than when he got done by Tyson..
I will keep my eye out for that Tubbs fight, ive seen his fights with Witherspoon,Tyson, he was a pretty tough guy to stay in their with Witherspoon for 15.
I just watched Carr vs Quartey and man!!.......Quartey was a straight up beast. Carr gave Trinidad and DLH all they can handle, especially DLH, and Quartey walked clean through him albeit over 12.
Quartey destroyed Vince Phillips to and i had him beating DLH and Forrest, im a big Trinidad but i would not have fancied Trinidad's chances against Quartey. Quarety would of bust Tito with that jab and Tito has always been open to the right hand, one of Quartey's best punches, on top of that Quartey could also outbox Trinidad and put mad pressure on him, good chin to.
Are you sure BattlingNelson ? Ian Darke said he was a part time butcher, he probably got IT wrong though the old fool.
What!! a left hook that was that Roy stretched Glenn Thomas out with, awesome.
Ive not seen Tubbs getting KTFO by the Tysonesque Lionel Butler, that is the fatish guy that fought Lewis in his comeback isn't it ?

He was a full-time fighter. He might have been part time butcher early in his career though.
Funny guy Nielsen. In a way Hatton is his british equivalent. Below is a parody of a screen saver. The real one features page 3 girls:
:lol1: :lol1:
I think BN said something like " He cant knock me down etc" and Jim Gray was like err......he did knock you down :lol1:
I think he was basically saying he would not have knocked him out had the fight gone on, which is possibly true i guess, although he was taking a shellacking right before the fight was stopped.

i saw B-hop Vs. Echols 1 (most entertaining B-hop fight)
and de la hoya Vs quartey
love those to fights
I agree Hopkins vs Echols was probably his most entertaining performance, then Hopkins vs Mercado 1+2.
Who did you have winning Quartey or DLH?
Nielsen could always take a punch. After the fight he said that Tyson didn't hit particularly hard and that he couldn't continue because he had double vision. If not for the injury he believed he would have beaten Mike.
He wasn't a part-time butcher although his appearance could be deceiving.
Tyson Neilson was terrific stuff... Neilson's a pretty tough guy...
I watched RJJ Vs Glenn Thomas and Tony Tubbs getting KTFO by the Tysonesque Lionel Butler (what happened to him? )

Nielsen took some huge shots from Tyson to the body and head. I thought Tyson looked extremely sluggish with the added weight, he threw a few combos but by and large he was loading up and looking for one punch.
Also Tyson looked open defensively to me.
Tough guy to take what i took old Nielsen. It said he was also a part time butcher or something.

I haven't watched Tyson-Nielsen since back then.
What's your take on the fight?

I hear JMM fight with Chris John is extremely boring so id stay away from that one
Ah feck, I spent an hour the other day downloading it for the collection. :laff2:
I'll leave it for a boring day. I'm too busy enjoying these glorious HD fights - although it's a bit weird having some videos with 60fps and others with a much lower fps, despite the actual screen quality being the same. I wish they were more consistent. :conf2:
Next I need to get that Pascal fight out of the way...
Lupe Pintor V Carlos Zarate. Pintor won an SD in controversial fashion, especially with being knockdown in the 4th. To anybody who has seen the fight, can you explain the 145-133 scorecard in Zarate's favour?
I had Zarate winning that fight 9 rounds to 6, plus a knockdown.
