Wouldn't this fight make sense? Mosley has fought at Jr Middle, why not go up 1 more? Mosley would come in around 160+ lbs fight night and Pavlik is around 170's isn't he? Mosley has good power (for his weight), and I can see his speed giving Pavlik fits.
Would you guys give Shane any chance?
Pavlik is even more one-dimensional than Margarito when you stop to think about it. That's why it wouldn't be out of the question to see Mosley handle Pavlik. It depends on which Mosley shows up though. I remember when Mayorga was discussed as a potential opponent for Pavlik and everyone thought that would be a mismatch. Then Mosley struggles with him before knocking him out. I guess I need to take some things in consideration before I pick a winner in this fight. I think Mosley has got the strength to muscle Pavlik around too.
The height difference would be pretty ridiculous, and look what happened to Shugs against Winky at 154. Even a rehab version of Pavlik would dispatch of him in 12.
Those rehab rumors were false.
The reason why I disagree with you last 2 is because its a totally different fight from those other 3. Shane doesnt have a good D and he's trying to walk all those guys down, so he's walking right into shots. Against Pavlik he will be on the move and boxing alot more. He will only attack when there is an opening and he will quickly get out. Pavlik is not going to walk through Mosley with that same 1-2 B.S. that he always throws. Shane is not an amature and it would be even harder to do with Richardson in his corner. That jab wont work as well as you guys think since Shane wont be coming to him anyways
you guys are underrating Shane and overrating Pavlik. Pavlik is not Winky or Forrest when it comes to boxing skills and there is no way that Shane would fight Pavlik the same way he fought the other 2. He tried to bring the fight to those 2 guys while he would try to box Pavlik. Taylor is maybe the most uncoordinated fighter in boxing and he was an inch away from having Pavlik out in there 1st fight and alot of people thought he out boxed Pavlik in the rematch. Hopkins skooled him and he looked like crap in his last fight. He's nearly as slow as Margarito. This is not a one sided mismatch in any way. Shane has always been very strong and he can take a good shot. Height doesnt have much to do with anything in this fight because Pavlik is so much slower and Shane will be boxing.
If anything I think Pavlik's height allows Shane to work his body easier which will slow him down later in the fight. Everyone keeps talking about the weight but Shane doesnt have to put on weight. He could weigh-in at 154 like he's done a ton and come into the ring at 160. Dont tell me that Shane couldnt make Pavlik walk into some shots like Margarito and then get out of dodge. Im not saying he wins and he may even get killed but dont act like this is automatic like Shane is a bum and Pavlik is a legend. Thats not the case at all
Mate shane mosley cannot handle a good jab/lead, we seen that with Winky, Forrest, and cotto. He comes in hands low, he would most likely get nailed with the jab coming in. Mosley isnt the type to keep his hands up, step to the side and parry the jab away like b-hop.

Pavlik wins.
Mosley is good but aging makes his speed slow down. Add on the weight during the move up and he is even slower. I say Pavlik takes him apart in the middle rounds. Mosley isn't Hopkins, so no, Mosley wont pull a Hopkins and school Pavlik.

Yeah, but his speed is overrated to a degree, and speed alone doesnt beat Pavlik, he's gotta be able to take pavlik's jab away, conicidently shane struggles against fighter who are able to establish the jab.
Good fight, alot of people would assume mosley would do a hopkins, i say otherwise, pavlik would have a very good chance of nailing him down with the jab-right hand.
