Cotto has showen that he can keep up with fast fighters
Alot of people have put Pac on a high pedistal after his last two easy victories. Like he aint ever gonna lose a round again or struggle in a fight unless it's Floyd.
Cotto has timing and accuracy and has shown that he can land on fast fighters (Malignaggie, Quintana, Judah, Mosley).
Mosley and Quintana are not as fast as Pac but i'm pretty sure we all can agree that they have more ability combined with their size. One guy (Mosley) just shit on Margarito and the other outboxed Williams for 12 rounds, landing on him all night. Just to give some contest on what kinda fighters Cotto beat.
And now he is supposed to get destroyed by a 5'6 lightweight with speed and power like Cotto hasn't seen anything like that before. Like Pac's speed is other worldly. Pleaze!!!!
Boxing fans have short term memory. Just because Cotto looked bad against Margarito and Clottey doesn't mean a thing. Remember B-Hop losing to Calzaghe and everybody picking to get beaten or maybe even Ko'd by Pavlik - who was on a hot streak.
Remember Mosley struggling with a washed up Mayorga and everybody not even thinking about him beating Margarito. Like it was a tune up fight for the Cotto rematch.
I can go on and on......Pacman isn't unbeatable.
Cotto must be aware of Freddie Roach. He will expose Cotto, not Manny.
Cotto needs a new trainer. Cotto is prone to uppercuts and I know Roach will work on landing thos!
Hard fight for both fighters IMO. My all time favorites. I dont think I can watch. Ugh!
People don't realize how good and fast Pacquiao's feints are. Manny can throw off the best counter punchers' timing with his footwork alone (MAB) combine that with his fast hands and you got an incredibly hard fighter to time and counter.
When he bounces on his toes it's not for fun.

Good points. I believe Cotto should be favored whatever weight is agreed upon.
If he can time mosley he can time Pacquiao, and catch him and KNock himout cold ending pacmania for goodmosley is not hard to time ...not so much footwork and head movement...hes gotten old...mosley defense is not very goot...he relies a lot on his offense to win fights
You guys have to understand that not only does Cotto bring in timing into the equation but he does have good foot work as well. Pacman's footwork gets sloppy at times and was the reason that the fights with JMM were very close bouts. I can say that Cotto has a style like JMM which is what makes this fight intriguing. In essence Cotto is a larger and stronger version of JMM, so taking that into account I am leaning towards Cotto in this fight.
Cotto spars with Calderon when preparing for fast fighters. Although Iron Boy lacks a punch, he probably has the fastest hands in boxing. Cotto will handle the speed fine IMO.
its not just about pacs speed...its all about the angles pac will throw his punches ...thats what cotto has to figure out...plain and simple...no real sparring partner can mimic that...and cotto doesnt watch tape of opposition...he should against pac...or it could get real ugly for him in the ring...
Dude you were impressed by him timing Hatton? Hattons guard is at his knees bro.
Timing a fighter like Mosley is different, now thats impressive
If he can time mosley he can time Pacquiao, and catch him and KNock himout cold ending pacmania for good
You make a good point, but Pac has the speed combined with the southpaw stance that ****s things up. I think Cotto is one of the better fighters at figuring southpaws out. Oscar just looked absolutely lost on how to land on Pac. I don't think Cotto will have that problem, but I do think he'll get tagged A LOT. He has no answer for straight punches through the guard, and I remember Corely landing the right hook at will. I remember Judah landing the straight left half of the time he threw it.
The last time I had a feeling like this was the Margarito fight, and we know what happened. I just think Pac is a special fighter and Cotto is made for him. The only problem is size. That's the only factor that makes people think Cotto will win. I hope I'm wrong.
Corley landed one right hook and it means he was landing at will? You fail to mention a few things. Cotto was draining to make 140 those days, Cotto had a document busted eardrum throwing off his equilibrium, and Cotto adjusted and made Corley quit.
When was the last time Pac has fought a great opponent in their prime? Now, when was the last time Cotto has fought a great opponent in their prime?
To many folks are drinking the Pac-man kool-aid and are letting their emotions cloud their judgement.
Actually, cotto is the oe with the superior timing. YOu got your definitions all wrong. Cotto outtimed Shane Mosley, landing counter punches on him.
Pac has speed and can flurry with combos but great timing, not so much.
the way he was able to perfectly time ricky Hatton really impressed me.... not that hes the hardest to time, but his timing was flawless.... Cottos timing is great as well, but the fact that pac-man is faster, and has great timing almost neutralizes what cotto can do...
timing is what matters...... pac has great timing

Last weeks fight proved to me that although it didnt look like the Cotto of old his still got massive heart and hung in there with a tough gain fighter in Clottey and never looked a way out just fought his game....
