I dont understand why all big fights must happen in Las Vegas?? This is the problem!!! True fans that want to watch and can scramble enough money to buy a ticket dont have enough to make it to vegas and shell out more money for hotels etc etc...They need to go to cities with proven attendance records like Cali,NY, Even Houston. Because there is money here and a great boxing Fan base!! Marquez would sell out Toyota center just like Juan did. Every race supports its fighter Latino more than other IMO. Las Vegas Consist of tourist and not alot of people looking to go to see the fight! This might have been a great Venue back in the day but lets face it money isnt growing on trees these days. I can afford to pay 300 max for a ticket and thats with some saving. More people are inclined to spend more on tix if thats all they are spending on. Promoters have to think like they are holding average joes wallet not DLH's. If anyone is to blame its the promoters and their greed.
money is not in ticket sales so it doesn't matter much to the promoters.
casinos pay big money to hold these events.
plus......people will pay big money for ringside tickets to a fight in vegas.
vegas itself is an attraction. people who fly to vegas for the weekend to watch a fight won't necessarily go to dallas or houston for a fight.
mostly celebrities, but true.
yeah Vegas is an attraction, no doubt about that, however I'd still like to see the big fight boxing scene switch it up from time to time, regardless of the Big fight history Vegas has.
Us Brits need to see more big fights here(Not involving one of our guys)We got fantastic stadia and it would be great to have a huge fight here.
I doubt a fight not involving a Brit would sell out a big venue. Mayweather thinks he can sell out Wembley which is ridiculous.
i agree. ive said this before. marquez-mayweather would have been huge at the home depot center. but i think promoters get some extra money from the hotels because they bring clients.
yeah i went 2 vegas for hatton pac and wont go back just toooo expensive
How much does it cost all together roughly for the weekend if you don't mind me asking?

great thread, green k sent. ur exacltly right. the average person cant affort to fly off to vegas to see a fight. plane tickets, hotels, plus the ticket for the actual fight. its gettin out of hand. plus we're in a recession.
Europe is where its at,Bigger crowds and bigger venues,More big fights need to come to Europe IMO
Just not Germany, if it is a fight with a low KO possibility.

Bigger crowds in Europe? 12,500 people were at Vitali's last fight. Abraham doesn't even fill the place up all the way. 60,000 for Wlad is an exception, not the norm.
NBA arenas in the US are perfect for boxing. Every major city has one and they very modern. They all seat around 20,000. A good fight at a good price sells well (Mosley vs Margarto). The casinos in Vegas and AC are good for a FEW fights, not all fights.
Agreed you dont get those die hard fans in vegas like in ny or la,england ect. Mostly a bunch of rich pricks who were comped or just want to be seen at the big event
yeah I wouldn't mind some big fights away from Vegas
and price comparison, between tickets, and train fair, I paid under $100 to go to a fight at the garden.
a fraction of what you'd pay to fly out + stay in Vegas.

It's for monetary reasons.
The Vegas casinos can afford expensive site fees. They make a lot of money on the weekend of a big fight not only from ticket sale revenues, but from hotel rooms, drinks, food, gambling, etc..from people (especially high rollers) who go to the fight.
