Still think Cotto has a weak chin?

The chin and heart Questions are over!!!!!!!!!!! He showed a lot of heart last night no doubt. Every time the ringside Doc asked if he was okay Cotto didn't hesitate to say "I'm fine, I'm okay". That was no small nick on his brow either, he was clearly bothered by it but fought on.

Yeam you can throw that weak chin shit out the window. That's old now. His biggest problem is being constantly pressured and backing up. He gasses out also. My feelings exactly, not a granite chin but it'll hold up. His issue is pressure which will wear him down with out question. Last night he seemed to start out circling but after the dramatics of the cut we saw glimpses of the Marg fight in which he often willingly went to the ropes. Pressure is the way you beat Miguel, he just aint the same fighter when he moves backward.

I want to take a step back from the dramatics of the scorecards, Lampley and Steward bickering, unintentional headbutts etc etc. After Cotto got cut last night you saw Clottey landing the right hand with regularity, Clottey landed some big shots no question about it. I think Cotto has a solid chin @147, he took bombs from Mosley and Clottey. So IMO biggest Cotto weakness is being swarmed with activity and punches in bunches from all angles, as far as big punches he seems to take em' well. I don't want to talk about PLASTER! Cotto is still less effective moving backwards, so keep the Margacheato stuff outta here please. So does Cotto chin still have a question mark on it? Well his chins good. Aint no lamotta, gatti, marciano chin etc. He took some good shots in this fight, but he didnt take any "holy **** why isnt he down!" shots. (and hagler had a good chin also)

By the way. Shannon Brown clipped the Birmdman's wings. So did LO. LOL! Yea he did, that dunk was nasty.

Cotto's chin is still suspect. He got whaaped by the African Bambaata and tucked tail. I know you seen the uppercuts he ate, then he started backing off. The fight started looking like Margarito-Cotto after the 7th round. If Clottey would have thrown more punches, Cotto would have kneeled down again.

Agreed, he didn't do damage like his nickname "hitter" would imply at least. Nonetheless I think Cotto put the questions surrounding his chin to rest once he moved up to 147. You are right. He has a solid chin. But you don't want to have to put your chin to the test every fight out. If you know what I mean. Cotto is tough without a doubt. Not a fan but I hope he begins to sure up his defense so he can continue his good career.
