Uppercuts.
He doesn't defend or time them well for shit. Margarito throws a shit load of uppercuts and thus dominated Cotto. Clottey who possibly never threw as many uppercuts in his life, as he did against Cotto. Hurt Cotto pretty bad and had Cotto running around the ring. Cotto didn't even go to the body like he normally does when Clottey faught him.
There you go. Uppercuts are his achillies ankle. He cant time them and he cant defend them. Pressure + uppercuts = Cotto losing.
Probably wont get a shit load of attention to this thread but wanted to let you all know anyways.
I think people underrate his defense a little bit, but you are right he is open to uppercuts more than any other punch and does get caught by then quite a lot.
I just give the guy his props for having the heart to fight through that cut and win a decision, he gained more of my respect last night.

Please tell us something we don't all ready know
How come Paul Williams beat the plastered Margarito?
I see two scenarios.
Margarito has been cheating the whole time he's been boxing. Which means he'd have been caught long before the Mosley fight.
Margarito started cheating after he lost to Williams. His "Most feared man in boxing" was shot to sht, the title he'd held for 5 years, defended 7 times, was gone. He needed an edge to stay world class in an improving division.
You decide which is more likely.
Margarito had plaster in his wraps, that's the only reason he beat Cotto.
I hardly call that "dominating" though.. Especially since the score cards where tied at the time of the stoppage.
