i just saw it on espnews. i was in msg last night and saw it a draw or 114-113 either way. he also said something interesting. he said that arum will use this cotto win to make floyd lower his demand. i think floyd vs pac will and should happen. and cotto should fight mosley. the winners face each other in 2010. i hope pac beats floyd cuz i doubt floyd will fight cotto or mosley. i think he retires after pac.
its not the worst score in the world like most ppl made it out to be..its still pretty bad in my opinion. But Dan Rafael cant score fights. He had the taylor/froch fight 9 rounds to 2 for taylor at the time of the stoppage. Pavlik/Taylor 1 i dont think he gave a single round to Pavlik before the stoppage. Just be glad he doesnt score fights for a living.
watching it live i thought clottey won. watching it the next day i had clottey up 2 and i just watched it again and had clottey up 1. rafael was way off. I don't know why but i can't stand that guy. Not because of his scoring but because he comes off as being really pompous.
Yeah well after last nights performance I'm positive Gayweather will hand Cotto his ass. im not sure about that. floyd wont put constant pressure on cotto which is what u gotta do to beat cotto. if floyd wins its because he pot shot and ran to a decision but making cotto the agresser and the pressure fighter would be better for cotto. i got cotto by sd until it happens.
It wouldn't surprise me if Dan Rafael still had Jermain Taylor in his p4p list.
He's a good source, but some things he gets wrong, like this.
Cotto won, but not by that margin.
:lol1::lol1:
Yeah he's way off here.
rafael has an agenda.
Rafael knows that cotto needs to win big to land a fight w/ either pac or floyd, that's why his scores sux so bad.
wtf?that has 0 to do with him
I thought 114-113 was right, but I couldn't possibly give Cotto anything more than 6 rounds. I feel like Clottey won his rounds very clearly and some of the rounds I gave Miguel were pretty close (11). Depending on what you like I think it could have gone in Clottey's favor by a point as well. It was a tight match and Clottey landed some great punches, but like the majority of the people I have seen here, I think Cotto did just a bit more down the stretch. It was Clottey's fight to win w/ Miguel having the cut eye and all, but he didn't close the show. The best thing Lampley said last night was (paraphrasing), "This is why Cotto's fans support him with such conviction, because he fights through situations like this (the cut) and continues to give his fans what they want". Cotto is the man and Clottey deserves big props for fighting a great fight. i pretty much saw it the same way. clottey didnt do enough in the last 2-3 rounds. and cotto took those rounds to edge out a decision. but i wasnt mad at clottey getting a decision by one of the judges. i got my 50 bucks worth and definitley liked seeing it live more than on tv.
Rafael had the wrong score.
