That was blatent IMO. It looked like the rabbit punch Hopkins hit Echols with.
It definitely looked worse on the slow motion replay. Real time it looked kind of strange, like Clottey was playing it up a bit. I'd have to see it again but it looked like both guys needed to cut the shit. I think Mercante did a great job handling the various oddities/fouls/whatever that came up throughout.
If I had to make the excuse for Cotto I'd say he probably couldn't see very well and he was fighting on fumes at that point. He wasn't trying to clinch hardly AT ALL in that fight and just threw the punch not knowing where Clottey was. That's the excuse angle.
I would like to see it again real time and slo mo though.
How about Cotto's back of the head punch?
Was that unintentional?
Both guys weren't choirboys in there for sure.

LOl at the one who said Clottey was off balance when he giot KD, he was in perfect position. That KD shows how strong Cotto is!!!!!!!!!1
Clottey was out of possition man. If you think he was hurt then you are crazy, why couldn't he move him back let alone drop him with any of his best shots after then?
Let's see the back of the head punch too.
I'd like to determine if that was on the ear or behind the head like some say.
It was a rabbit punch, but it was accidental, Clottey turned around after the punch had been thrown.
Yeah the knock down was super legit. It was a true flash knock down. It took Clottey's legs away for that brief moment.
I don't think Cotto threw Clottey down on purpose, but it definitely pissed him off the way Clottey tried to tie him up. He definitely tried to muscle him and throw him back into the corner there.
hard to say it was accidental. if Cotto wasn't trying to throw Clottey then in your opinion what was Cotto trying to do?
and Cotto didn't throw him back, he threw him down.

Also, Clottey needs new shoes. You'd swear he was a hockey player last night with all that slipping and sliding. I know the ring was slippery, but it seemed to affect Clottey far more than Cotto.
I would like to see them rematch though. Clottey definitely did enough to deserve one. Close fight, lots of controversy. Body Flips, Head used as battering ram, slipping, crying foul etc!hehe
lol at the body slam gifs. :)
Clottey hurting his knee there wouldn't of been a surprise.
I do think he played up on it abit though, just to get a point taken off.

LMAO You don't headlock Cotto under your armpit.. It seems to aggrivate the **** out of him He's done that in the past as well with Oktay Urkal. Only Urkal got lifted up into the air. It didn't look like he did it purposfuly this time though, It seems like he was trying to shake him off.
And people want to say Clottey was faking. That was a hard fall without a doubt. The ref could care less though.
yeah he's kinda a prick
"come on shake it off"
didn't he say the same thing when Zab got low blowed?

ridiculous
and people on another board were defending Cotto saying he "threw Clottey off, without using his arms"
if that's true, then what the hell is Cotto's right glove doing on Clottey's back
looks like Miguel pushed down with the glove, to get more leverage.
